Trump's incoming 'border czar' says illegal immigration workplace raids will take place

President-elect Donald Trump's incoming "border czar" said Monday that workplace raids will crank up when cracking down on illegal immigration.

Trump announced Sunday that he had chosen Tom Homan, a former director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and a major advocate of deporting illegal aliens, to be his “border czar” in his next administration.

During an interview on Fox and Friends on Monday, Homan said that this approach would combat sex and labor trafficking.

“Where do we find most victims of sex trafficking and forced labor trafficking? At worksites,” Homan said, according to The Hill.

Some activists pushed back against Homan, saying he was conflating traffickers with those who have been victims of trafficking.

Homan also said that the Biden administration “has lost over 300,000 children that were smuggled in this country by criminal cartels.”

He said that illegal immigrants with criminal records would be the highest on the deportation list, and he made clear that even if they are in sanctuary cities, that will not protect them from deportation, according to the New York Post.

“If we can’t get assistance from New York City, we may have to double the number of agents we send to New York City,” he told Fox & Friends. “Because we’re going to do the job with you or without you.”
