A Fox News analysis released on Friday found that former President Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance have done a combined 63 interviews compared to 23 for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn.
Harris has not done a formal news conference since emerging as the Democratic nominee after Biden left the 2024 race.
Trump and Vance have made an issue out of the lesser amount of interviews Harris has done as well as the lack of news conferences. Interviews with Harris have included Wisconsin Public Radio, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
"She can't answer questions," Trump said in late August.
In mid-August, Harris communications director Michael Tyler laughed when pressed on CNN about not holding a single news conference.
"Would it kill you guys to have a press conference?" asked CNN host Jim Acosta, who also asked if the campaign would commit to hold a news conference by the end of the month.
"We will commit to directly engage with the voters who are actually going to decide this election," Tyler said. "And that is going to be complete with rallies, with sit-down interviews, with press conferences, with all the digital assets that we have at our disposal."
