World's top golfer, Scheffler charged with assaulting police officer outside PGA Championship course


Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 golfer in the world, was arrested and charged Friday morning in connection with assaulting a police officer outside of Valhalla Golf Club, in Louisville, Kentucky, where the PGA Championship is being played, according to multiple news reports.

ESPN reports the incident is related to Scheffler attempting to drive past a police officer into the club.

When the golfer failed to stop, he was forced to by police, then was handcuffed after being ordered out of his vehicle. according to local TV station WLKY.
