A father of two in Arizona has died after becoming trapped under his own car while trying to repair it. Horrifically, witnesses to the accident decided to steal the man’s belongings instead of trying to help him.
AZ Family reports that Jeronimo Garcia Guerra was pinned under the car for hours after the jack that was holding the vehicle up collapsed.
Mr Guerra’s daughter Monica Garcia described to reporters how bystanders went through the broken down car stealing anything they found, then even went through Mr Guerra’s pockets while he was trapped.
They then stole her car, which her father had used to drive back to the other broken down vehicle.
“It’s hard because I would never do that to somebody. I could care less about my car but at least they could have stayed there with him until help came,” a distraught Ms Garcia stated.
She added, “At least I would’ve known he wasn’t by himself all day until somebody decided to say oh my god he’s not moving.”
No arrests have been made and no suspects identified at time of writing.
