CNN: Tucker Carlson Helped Facilitate RFK’s Endorsement of Trump

Talks ramped up before RNC last month.

According to CNN, Tucker Carlson helped facilitate talks between the Trump campaign and Robert F Kennedy Jr. that are set to come to fruition today with RFK’s expected endorsement of Trump.

The Trump campaign’s efforts to court Kennedy’s endorsement kicked into high gear following Joe Biden’s replacement with Kamala Harris.

At this point, Donald Trump Jr. “began pushing for a way to get (Kennedy) to end his campaign,” reports CNN.

Discussions between the Trump campaign and RFK’s advisors then escalated in the lead up to the RNC in July.

Offered the incentive of a position within Trump’s cabinet should he win, after previously being rebuffed by the Harris campaign, RFK became increasingly keen on the idea as he realized there was no path to victory with his own campaign.

According to the report, Tucker Carlson was a key figure in securing Kennedy’s expected endorsement.

“In addition to Trump Jr., former Fox News host Tucker Carlson – who is close to Kennedy – as well as businessman Omeed Malik, a Trump donor who has also given to Kennedy’s campaign, have helped facilitate the talks,” reports CNN.

However, during an interview with Megyn Kelly, Carlson himself denied any involvement, saying, “I definitely didn’t broker anything…I just wouldn’t do it,” but he did go on to acknowledge that he likely ‘connected’ RFK’s people with the Trump campaign.

As we highlighted earlier, despite RFK hovering at around 5 per cent nationally in the polls, a significant chunk of his supporters would likely vote for Trump over Kamala Harris.

However, Democrats are banking on Kennedy’s supporters being too small in number to make a difference while also hoping that many of them won’t bother voting at all.

A memo released earlier today by Harris campaign operative Ramsey Reid asserted, “Here’s what RFK Jr.’s endorsement of Donald Trump would change: nothing.”

“The little support that remains is soft, split across ideologies, and disproportionately among lower propensity voters.”

However, with some swing states expected to be decided by just thousands of votes, the Harris campaign may end up regretting their decision to give RFK the cold shoulder.

The fact that Kennedy was at one point registering national support in the teens suggests Democrats may have fatally underestimated his influence.
