Former Clinton Adviser Calls For Investigation Into Whether ABC News Rigged the Debate
A former top adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton says ABC News should hire an external law firm to conduct an internal investigation into whether the network was involved in “rigging the outcome” of the presidential debate.
The demand was made by political strategist and pollster Mark Penn, who was a chief strategist for Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.
“I actually think they should do a full internal investigation, hire an outside law firm. I don’t know how much of this was planned in advance,” Penn told the John Solomon Reports podcast.
“I don’t know what they told the Harris campaign. I think the day after, suspicion here is really quite high, and I think a review of all their internal texts and emails really should be done by an independent party to find out to what extent they were planning on, in effect, you know, fact-checking just one candidate and in effect, rigging the outcome of this debate. I think the situation demands nothing less than that,” he added.
Penn added that the general media legacy bias towards Kamala has shielded her from facing tough scrutiny.
“It’s a 50-50, race. He’s [Trump] got more obvious tools to get across the finish line than she does and part of the thing here is that if the referees have their finger on the scale, it’s harder to, you know, break through and overcome. And certainly, general media coverage has been fairly laughable,” said Penn.
As we document in the video below, the debate was rigged against Trump from the very start as both moderators took an adversarial position towards him while going soft on Kamala.
Trump was ‘fact checked’ multiple times while Harris wasn’t fact checked once despite repeating numerous falsehoods such as the ‘very fine people’ hoax and the Trump “bloodbath” scam.
One of the ABC moderators, Linsey Davis, even bragged back in 2021 about how she was sorority sisters with Harris, leading to accusations that Kamala was essentially being aided by her friend during the debate.
Doug Schoen, former adviser to President Clinton and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, also wrote in an editorial that Harris “was aided and abetted by two ABC News moderators who seemingly felt the need to fact-check virtually everything the former president said.”
As we highlighted yesterday, even CNN’s Jake Tapper critiqued Kamala for dodging multiple questions during the debate.
