“The whole of Vienna is shocked”

A chilling pattern of alleged abuse in outdoor swimming pools is emerging, with a recent case in Vienna mirroring disturbing reports from Germany, with the reports of sexual assaults sending shockwaves through both nations.

As Remix News previously reported, in the German city of Gelnhausen, four Syrians are accused of sexually harassing nine underage girls, with the mayor already apologizing for initially blaming the mass sexual assault on “hot weather” and “frayed tempers.”

However, another incident from Austria involving a 16-year-old girl, who was visiting the Laaerbergbad swimming pool in Vienna, also turned into a horrifying experience. Heute newspaper noted that “all of Vienna is shocked” by the case.

The girl, referred to as Martina in the report, is now speaking out, along with her mother, after she was allegedly surrounded by a group of men from Bulgaria and abused. One Bulgarian suspect attempted to rip off her bikini while touching her intimately.

“At first we thought they accidentally bumped into us because there was so much going on”, Martina said, but the situation escalated quickly.

“They hit us in the back, jumped on our shoulders to push us under the water,” the victim said.

“My heart sank,” the distraught girl’s mother told the daily newspaper Heute, describing seeing her daughter hysterically crying when the mother showed up at the pool.

The daughter was a part of a group of girls who were attacked at the wave pool by a group of men, with the men grabbing them and dunking them under the water.

“They’re about the same age as me – weird and perverted”, says Nadine, the mother of Martina. She pointed out the men were much older, 31 and 41, than their victims.

Police have since arrested two Bulgarian men as suspects, but they have already been released.

The victim is currently receiving psychological treatment following the incident. Her mother expressed her disbelief and regret, saying, “I never would have thought that an afternoon at the outdoor pool could be dangerous.” She labeled the alleged perpetrators as “deviant and perverse.””

“It’s incomprehensible that something like this could happen in a packed pool. Where is the civil courage of other swimmers?” she asked.

Further incidents are also coming to light in Germany. In Hof, Bavaria, two Syrians are accused of abusing a 12-year-old girl at an outdoor pool by repeatedly submerging her underwater and touching her inappropriately.

They were arrested at the scene but remain at liberty while the Hof Criminal Investigation Department investigates charges of assault and a sexual offense.

Additionally, in Germany’s Babenhausen, in the state of Hesse, a 31-year-old Romanian man was arrested last Sunday for allegedly indecently touching three 10-year-old girls while heavily intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level of 4.21. The man is currently in custody, according to Bild newspaper.

Remix News has long reported on exploding levels of physical and sexual violence in German swimming pools, including many of the cases linked in this article. In fact, the latest case involving four Syrian migrants has many similar cases. In 2023, eight migrants were arrested for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in a Cologne swimming pool.

Referring to that case, the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party wrote that the incident had echoes of the infamous sexual assaults in Cologne during 2016’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, in which over 2,000 European women were sexually assaulted by men from the Middle East and North Africa.

“And again, the reactions of the established parties are predictable: nothing but unbearable phrases, appeasements, silence and trivialization — instead of finally deporting people and protecting our children and women! In the city of Cologne in particular, sexual abuse brings back horrific memories: on New Year’s Eve 2015, there were hundreds of sexual attacks by migrants in the area of Cologne Cathedral and the main train station. The mass migration ideologues in Cologne have apparently learned nothing. The incredible extent of the suppression of reality and the mockery of victims culminated in the statement by the still incumbent mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker, that women should keep an ‘arm’s length away.’ But this helpless 13-year-old girl in the swimming pool had no chance of getting an ‘arm’s length distance.’ She is the victim of a political mainstream that puts its ideology before the protection of women and girls.”

In June of that same year, seven women were sexually assaulted by migrants at one pool in Stuttgart, with one of the victims being only 12 years old.

In 2023, in the German city of Stuttgart, police arrested a 23-year-old Syrian migrant who was accused of groping several women at an outdoor swimming pool over Pentecost weekend. In total, seven women, ranging from ages 12 to 18, were sexually assaulted at the swimming pool in three different incidents. Three men in total were taken into custody, including a 23-year-old Syrian migrant.

In 2016, a town near Cologne banned all migrant men from going to a public pool due to repeated cases of sexual harassment and one criminal case. The ban was instituted to persuade asylum seekers to “change their behavior,” according to town authorities. A leaked police report in 2016 also showed that there was a concerning rise in migrant sexual assaults at swimming pools in the German city of Düsseldorf.

In 2021, three 12-year-old girls were sexually assaulted in the Kaufbeuren public swimming pool in Bavaria by a group of six older teenagers described as having dark skin and speaking broken German. Police are still looking for the suspects.

The internal report stated, “(We) can confirm a surge in sex crimes at these establishments. In particular rape and the sexual abuse of children in bathing establishments have given us grave cause for concern. The perpetrators are, for the most part, immigrants.”

In 2017, two asylum seekers, including a Syrian former ISIS member, were arrested for sexually assaulting two girls, aged 12 and 14, at a German swimming pool.

In 2021, in Berlin, there were numerous mass brawls involving migrant men at swimming pools, including one that was caught on film and ended up going viral.
