Politico: Trump Getting Shot At Makes Him Mussolini
A leftist ‘opinion’ piece published by Politico has scaled new depths by suggesting Donald Trump is like fascist dictator Mussolini, taking advantage of almost being assassinated to act more authoritarian.
The article is headlined “Mussolini used assassination attempts on his life to gain power — and how Donald Trump could do the same.”
It states “The history of Mussolini’s consolidation of power and the attacks that punctuated that process carry lessons for our understanding of the mentality and methods of Donald Trump after the attempt on his life at a rally last month.”
The piece further labels Trump as “an aspiring strongman” and suggest that had he been in office when the attempt on his life occurred, he could have “used it to crack down on critics or expand his authority.”
It continues, “What is clear already is that the assassination attempt has made Trump’s personality cult more robust and more powerful for his followers.”
“His claims of being a victim targeted on their behalf are now more credible and his persona cemented as an indomitable fighter. And he knows it,” the piece further proclaims.
There you have it. The media positing that Trump is a dictator because someone tried to shoot him in the head.
If anything they’re ratcheting up the vitriol.
