Poll: Half Of Brits Would Refuse To Fight For Their Country “Under Any Circumstances”

Liberals are the most unlikely to want to fight

An Ipsos poll has found that fewer than half of all British people would be willing to fight to save their country.

Yeah, that figures.

The Survey was conducted to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, marking the formal surrender of Nazi Germany to the Allied nations in 1945.

While many Brits marked the occasion this past weekend with street parties and reflections, many who reside in the country now simply have no clue what VE Day is.

The poll found that just 35 per cent said that they would be willing to put their lives on the line to protect Britain now, while 17 per cent said that they were unsure, the Mail on Sunday reported.

The poll also revealed that in the age range of 35 to 54, only 28 percent would be willing to fight for Britain.

The poll also found that liberals were the most unlikely to want to fight for the country, while supporters of Reform UK, forever now referred to as the ‘far right’ by the media and Prime Minister Kier Starmer, were found to be the most willing to sacrifice their lives for Britain.

Retired British Army officer and veteran of the Afghan and Iraq wars, Richard Gill commented “The fact that so many would refuse to fight for Britain is a symptom of a deeper national malaise.”

“We’ve stopped teaching pride in our country, its history, and its values,” Gill lamented, adding “A nation unsure of itself cannot expect its people to defend it. That must change.”
