Senator Rand Paul has admitted that not endorsing President Trump before the election was wrong of him, and that he has been “amazed” by Trump since he took office for the second time.
“A few people may have noticed that I resisted an enthusiastic endorsement of Donald Trump during the election. But now, I’m amazed by the Trump cabinet (many of whom I would have picked),” Paul shard in an X post.
He continued, “I love his message to the Ukrainian warmongers, and along with his DOGE initiative shows I was wrong to withhold my endorsement.”
“So today, admittedly a little tardy, I give Donald Trump my enthusiastic endorsement! (Too little too late some will say, but, you know, it is sincere, there is that.),” Paul further explained.
The Senator added that no one should expect his endorsement to be “fawning,” indicating that if he disagrees with Trump on other issues he will speak up about it.
“I still think tariffs are a terrible idea, but Dios Mio, what courage, what tenacity. Go @realDonaldTrump Go!” Paul concluded.

In an earlier interview with Breitbart News, Paul noted that he would have nominated Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, Jay Bhattacharya, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. among others just as Trump has done.
I think he’s done a tremendous job, and I love the idea that they’re just disrupting and, you know, opening up the place and finding all of the malfeasance. So I couldn’t be happier with it, with the Trump administration so far,” Paul stated.
He further outlined that “It doesn’t mean I’ll give up on the crusade against debt and spending. … And if there’s a budget this year, how can I vote for a budget that’s going to lead to a $2.2 trillion debt deficit?”
“So there are things that I won’t always agree with the Trump administration, but for the most part, I’ve been ecstatic about what he’s doing,” Paul urged.
Paul took up the issue of Ukraine spending in the Senate Thursday, noting “$4.8 million [has been] spent in Ukraine for social media influencers.”
“Over the years, we’ve given Egypt nearly $60 billion,” Paul continued, adding “Who runs Egypt? A general where there are no elections.”
“Kind of like Ukraine where it’s a ‘president’ but he doesn’t have to run for re-election because he has canceled the elections,” Paul further asserted, adding “Why in the world would we give money hand over fist to dictators?”

Paul’s comments come as DOGE head Elon Musk has suggested the department will start looking into the hundreds of billions of dollars in taxpayer funds that has been given to Ukraine.
