RFK Considering Option to Throw Support Behind Trump

RFK Considering Option to Throw Support Behind Trump

Could swing race firmly in Trump’s favor.

RFK is considering quitting the race and throwing his support behind Donald Trump, a decision that could hand Trump victory in such a closely fought contest.

Nicole Shanahan, the independent candidate’s vice presidential running mate, said Kennedy had two choices open to him – either continue and establish himself as a third party choice for 2028, or drop out and support Trump to help him defeat the Democrats.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Tim Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump, “Ms Shanahan told the Impact Theory podcast.

“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and, you know, we walk away from that and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” she added.

Shanahan said it was “not an easy decision,” but the Harris campaign rejecting Kennedy’s overture to secure a high profile position within her administration if she wins could turn out to be, as RFK put it, a “strategic mistake.”

Kennedy is currently polling at around 5% nationally, which is a four point drop over the course of the month.

However, in such a closely fought election, his decision could have a crucial impact.

RFK merely withdrawing from the race is likely to help Trump defeat Kamala Harris, particularly in swing states like Pennsylvania, with a recent poll showing Trump beating Kamala by 44% to 43% if RFK drops out.

However, if Kennedy is involved in the race, Kamala is up marginally, 48% to 47%, with 5% undecided.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropping out of the presidential race could hurt Vice President Kamala Harris’ chances of beating Donald Trump, according to recent polls,” confirms Newsweek.

RFK is likely to secure a position within a second Trump administration should Trump win, with the former president telling Kennedy last month, “I would love you to do something – and I think it would be so good for you and so big for you.”
