President Trump has stated that he is “not joking” when he says he would like to explore running for a third term as President and added that he would relish running against Barack Obama, who has also served two terms as President.
The possibility of it happening is remote given that it is prohibited by the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution, however Trump told NBC News “There are methods which you could do it.”
“I’m not joking,” Trump clarified, adding “But I’m not — it is far too early to think about it.”
“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump emphasised, further noting “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go. You know, it’s very early in the administration.”
When Trump was asked if it was possible that Vice President JD Vance would run for president then step aside for Trump, he responded “That’s one” method.
“But there are others, too,” he added without elaborating.
Further to this exchange, White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Trump about the matter at an Oval Office press conference.
“I know it’s hypothetical right now,” Doocy began, adding “but if you were allowed, for some reason, to run for a third term, is there a thought that the Democrats could try to run Barack Obama against you?”
Trump replied “I’d love that. For his third term? Boy, I’d love that.”
“That would be a good one, I’d like that. No, people are asking me to run, and there’s a whole story about running for a third term,” the President continued, adding “They do say there’s a way you can do it, but I don’t know about that, but I have not looked into it. I want to do a fantastic job. We have four years, just about, almost close to four years.”

Naturally, leftists are freaking out about Trump’s comments, suggesting that he is insinuating he intends to violate the Constitution to remain in power.
Trump was never joking about a third term — he’s simply socializing the idea as the final step in taking total control over our government.

It’s not:
“President Trump Discusses Possible Third Term.”
It’s: “Kleptocratic Wannabe Dictator Says He Can Serve ‘Third Term’ In Blatant Disregard Of The Constitution He ‘Swore’ An Oath To Defend.”
You’re welcome.
The president is not a king.

The Constitution could not be clearer: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.
Donald Trump would rather fantasize about a fictional third term than do anything to lower costs for working families.

Others are noting that Obama already had a third term…
Why did Obama get a third term but Trump can’t?
