Trump Rubbishes Charges Against NYC Mayor Eric Adams, Considers Pardon
In comments to the media Monday, President Trump said that he would consider a pardon for New York Mayor Eric Adams who was indicted on federal corruption charges in September.
When asked if he would consider pardoning Adams, Trump responded “Yeah, I would,” describing the charges against Adams as stemming from having been “upgraded in an airplane many years ago,” adding: “I think everybody here has been upgraded.”
Trump added that the feds came for Adams after he “went against what was happening” with Biden’s wide open border.
“He made some pretty strong statements [about illegal migrants] like ‘this is not sustainable,’ and I said, ‘You know what, he’s going to be indicted soon,’” Trump stated.
He continued, “I said it not as a prediction, a little lightheartedly, but I said it… and a few months later, he got indicted. So, I would certainly look at it.”

The indictment against Adams, which many legal experts believe is flimsy, alleges that he exchanged favors for Turkey in return for campaign contributions. It also alleges that he obtained benefits such as hotel upgrades, which is what Trump was referring to.
Since the indictment, Adams has continued to pivot away from the Democratic Party and toward the incoming administration, vowing to work with Trump and his border czar Tom Homan on facilitating deportations of criminal illegals.
Adams has also outlined that he doesn’t care if he gets ‘cancelled’ by leftists for it.
Adams has blasted the press for acting surprised that he is willing to help Trump, and continues to make further statements that sound full on MAGA:

Without addressing the possibility of a pardon directly, the Mayor himself has said his attorney would “look at every avenue to ensure I get justice,” insisting that he was the victim of a “politicized” justice system.
Adams has denied that his cosying up to Trump has anything to do with his federal indictment, saying that he just wants to “real things done.”
