Law enforcement officials have leaked details of a briefing they received claiming that the would be assassin of Donald Trump was able to fly a drone over the site of the rally the same day.
The Wall Street Journal reports that according to the anonymous sources, Thomas Matthew Crooks flew a drone over the Butler, Pennsylvania fairgrounds and was able to get aerial footage of the layout of the site just hours before Trump took to the stage.
The report also notes that Crooks probably flew the drone around the perimeter more than once as he researched the site.
Donald Trump Jr notes that the Secret Service previously did not allow him to fly his own drone close to Mar-a-Lago when his father was inside, underscoring just how much of a lapse in security this is.
This just adds to the already voluminous amount of unanswered questions and weird circumstances that have emerged in the wake of the shooting.
