Trump Team Asks For Presidential Level Of Protection Amid Threat Of Drone, Missile Attacks
Donald Trump’s campaign has requested an “unprecedented” presidential level of protection for the GOP nominee in the final days leading up to the election amid a flurry of threats to his life, including drone strikes and missile attacks.
The New York Times and the Washington Post both reported that Trump’s team has asked the Biden Harris administration to even provide military aircraft protection in the face of the threats.
The Times reports “Former President Donald J. Trump’s campaign has requested a series of additional security measures, including military assets, in conversations with the White House and the Secret Service because of continuing threats to his safety, according to four people briefed on the matter.”
The report adds that “In exchanges with the White House chief of staff, Jeff Zients, and the acting Secret Service director, Ronald L. Rowe Jr., in the past two weeks, Susie Wiles, Mr. Trump’s top campaign adviser, said that Mr. Trump had been forced to move, reschedule or cancel key events because of limits on the service’s available resources.”
It also notes that “Trump’s campaign requested military aircraft for Trump to fly in during the final weeks of the campaign, expanded flight restrictions over his residences and rallies, ballistic glass pre-positioned in seven battleground states for the campaign’s use and an array of military vehicles to transport Trump.”
Trump has also been told to stop playing golf, and essentially stop going anywhere unless it is absolutely necessary, because the Secret Service lacks the resources to effectively protect him.
He has also had to downsize or even cancel scheduled rallies.
Joe Biden himself even commented Friday, for the first time, that Trump should receive presidential level protection.
As we previously highlighted, claims were made recently that three so called ‘kill teams’ have taken delivery of sets of three surface to air missiles which they intend to use to target Donald Trump’s jet in a plot to assassinate him.
Congressman Matt Gaetz has also warned that a senior DHS official told him there are at least five “assassination teams” inside the United States currently targeting Trump.
Last month Trump’s team was briefed on multiple assassination plots against him, including some connected to Iran.
Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung announced that “Intelligence officials have identified that these continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months, and law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and the election is free from interference.”
