Trump Vows To Overturn Biden's Title IX Rewrite “On Day One”
Donald Trump vowed Friday to overturn Joe Biden’s recent rewrite of Title IX to include protection for transgender identifying people, calling it “crazy” that a policy that was originally enacted to protect women and girls can now be used to allow biological males to go into female locker rooms.
Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government, has been in place since 1972, but was effectively thrown out the window last month by the Biden Administration.
They added a provision that “clarifies that sex discrimination includes discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”
Not only will the change allow boys to enter girls' spaces in schools, it also forces teachers to use 'preferred pronouns' and to acknowledge the chosen gender identity of students without providing notice to or getting approval from parents.
During an interview on the “Kayal and Company” radio show, Trump stated “We’re going to end it on day one.”
“That came down as an executive order,” Trump further noted, adding “And we’re gonna change it — on day one, it’s gonna be changed. We’re going to end it.”
“Tell your people not to worry about it,” he continued, adding “It’ll be signed on day one. It’ll be terminated.”
Nicole Neily, president of Parents Defending Education, has described the Biden changes to Title IX as “grotesque,” charging that it appeals “to extremists in his party, sacrificing the First Amendment on the altar of Title IX and disregarding clearly established Supreme Court precedent on the definition of sexual harassment.”
Former Senior Counsel at the U.S. Department of Education Sarah Parshall Perry has urged that the revision of “Title IX—which was enacted to protect women and girls and provide them equal educational opportunities—has been manipulated so that gender activists and woke politicos can feel good about themselves.”
More than 20 states are now suing the Department of Education over the changes to Title IX.
