Former New York Times and Washington Post ‘journalist’ Taylor Lorenz has drawn massive heat for posting on X that it isn’t difficult to understand why young Americans believe the U.S. “deserved 9/11.”
Yes, she really posted that.
Lorenz wrote “Young ppl today also correctly recognize that 9/11 didn’t happen in a vacuum, it was a direct response to/consequence of US foreign policy in the middle east. The more u know abt what the US has done in the middle east the more u understand why many believe the US deserved 9/11.”
“Deserved 9/11” is certainly a take.

Then again, this is the same person who romanticizes murdering healthcare CEOs.
Democrats are crazy, man. pic.twitter.com/Vy9Bg8jFON
Instead of leaving it there, Lorenz doubled down and attacked those who took issue with her post, proclaiming that it’s a “boomer ass take in 2025” to suggest 9/11 is a delicate subject.
She then claimed that the terrorist attack “has been a punchline” for years and that people have “9/11 themed parties” and wear “9/11 parody t-shirts.”

Of course this is considered a normal opinion if you’re an extreme leftist.
Taylor Lorenz hangs out with a bunch of crazed pro-terror left-wing extremists obsessed with hating America and thus assumes their deranged behavior is also normalized among other Americans. pic.twitter.com/XqvClqLxAq

Not for everyone else though.
Jfc, what country does she live in? It’s not the country I live in. pic.twitter.com/lHZ2zTv5Ca

Three things can be true:
— Alex Berenson (@AlexBerenson) May 30, 2025
1) 9/11 was a day of unthinkable horror, especially for those of us who lived in New York.
2) Anyone under 30 does not remember it. It's just history to them; they cannot care in the same way.
3) @TaylorLorenz is a vile, attention-seeking loser. https://t.co/pGqAKs49G3
The United States did absolutely nothing to deserve 9/11 and the fact that so you many brain dead young people have fallen bin laden’s absurd lie that our naughty foreign policy inspired it is more proof young people spend too much time on the communist brainwash app.

I can't imagine thinking of 9/11 as a punchline. Among so many other things it's so disrespectful to the people who lost their lives that awful day and their loved ones.

She is someone who held a major position at a mainstream media outlet, one we were supposed to take seriously, until not that long ago. I find that disturbing.

Lorenz couldn’t even leave it there, she went on and on…
Not gonna put a bunch of kids on blast but I think it’s important to recognize that many Gen Z were born after 9/11 and to them it’s just another historical event. 9/11 jokes and memes have been popular since Vine days.

I was born-post WW2 and I have never attended a Pearl Harbor, Nanking, or Dachua party.

Have you?
For the zillionth time I’m not a Democrat or a liberal. I hate the democrats more than you people do. You’re once again conflating something I’m reporting (many young ppl have a different view of 9/11) with my personal beliefs on the topic (something I have never spoken abt) https://t.co/fWwvagBNdU
— Taylor Lorenz (@TaylorLorenz) May 30, 2025
People have been making 9/11 jokes since Vine. There have been countless articles about this. But of course when I say it it’s an entire media cycle!! https://t.co/4gm22R2mkB pic.twitter.com/DkBWIQrvmr
— Taylor Lorenz (@TaylorLorenz) May 30, 2025
Yeah, no.
There is a distinct difference between a professional stand up comedian working 9/11 into a bit within the context of an act, or a kid on social media making a tasteless joke, and a reporter who very recently worked for the nation’s two biggest newspapers calling the attacks a “punchline” and saying it’s “boomer ass” to ask for some respect for those affected by the nation’s deadliest ever terrorist attacks.
Those things are not the same.
Lorenz also recently expressed empathy for Luigi Mangione, the guy charged with murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in cold blood.
Someone remind this dizzy bitch that 3000 American Citizens died on 9/11.

She should go back to licking her boyfriend Luigi.
Lorenz has the least self awareness in the world.
