According to Variety, the suit was one of nine filed by the Buzbee Law Firm on Oct. 20. Five were filed in the Southern District of New York, and two each were filed in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
The news outlet managed to obtain a copy of the complaint, which indicates the plaintiff has chosen to remain anonymous, being referred to simply as Jane Doe.
On Sept. 7, 2000, Doe, then 13, was attempting to enter the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) ceremony. She did not have a ticket to the event, so she approached limousine drivers after the ceremony to "try to catch on to an after-party."
The girl was then taken to a party by a driver employed by Combs and directed to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). After affixing her signature to the NDA, she was welcomed inside the party venue and handed a drink. But as soon as she took a sip, she quickly felt woozy and found a bedroom to lie down in.
Doe awoke as Combs walked into the room flanked by "a male and [a] female celebrity," who were both unnamed in the suit. The male celebrity then sexually assaulted her while the rap mogul and the female companion observed. Once the male celebrity was done, Combs then proceeded to rape her while the two unnamed celebrities watched.
Following the sexual assault, the plaintiff – who now lives in Alabama as per Variety – fell into a deep depression which continues to affect every facet of her life.
The rap mogul's legal team directed Variety to an earlier statement when asked for comment about the new accusation. The said statement reiterated that "the truth will prevail" and expressed confidence that Combs will be exonerated in court.
New suit part of 120 complaints filed against Diddy
"Combs is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, [New York City] after being arrested on Sept. 15 by [federal agents] on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to the charges," Variety continued. "Combs was denied bail by two separate judges, and is set to remain behind bars until his trial in May of next year. If found guilty of racketeering, Combs could face life in prison."
During an Oct. 1 press conference, Buzbee Law Firm lead counsel Tony Buzbee said 120 victims have come forward to sue the Bad Boy Records founder – including the 13-year-old Jane Doe. Included in the 120 victims is a nine-year-old boy, the youngest in the group. According to the Daily Mail, Combs' abuse of the victims happened between 1991 and this year.
"This individual, who was nine years old at the time, was taken to an audition in New York City with Bad Boy Records. This individual was sexually abused allegedly by Combs and several other people at the studio in the promise to both his parents and to [the victim] himself of getting a record deal," Buzbee said. "Other boys were there to audition as well. All of them were trying to land a record deal. All of them were minors."
The lawyer exhorted other victims of Combs to come forward: "If you're out there and you have been victimized, you are not alone. There is a great strength in numbers."
