Ohio Democratic Party operative caught calling for OPEN BORDERS in leaked audio recording

A campaign staffer for the Democratic Party in Ohio has been caught calling for open borders in a leaked audio recording.

The Daily Mail reported that Kevin Oyakawa, a political operative working for two lawmakers representing Ohio in the United States Congress, made the remarks. The staffer was helping Sen. Sherrod Brown and Rep. Emilia Sykes, both Ohio Democrats, in their reelection efforts. Incidentally, the leaked audio of Oyakawa touched on the issue that prevented Sykes from discussing her stance on immigration.

"I'm out there just, like, open the f------g border. I don't give a s--t who the f--k comes in here. We don't need Border Patrol," the operative was recorded as saying. "But the issue with even talking about immigration here in Ohio is that it's a losing issue."

"It's a losing issue for Democrats here … for like no f------g reason other than people's pure racism. That's why it's probably really hard to find anything about where [Sykes] stands on it. If she has to address immigration, she starts losing." (Related: House Democrats propose OPEN BORDERS in 2019 homeland security budget.)

According to Oyakawa's LinkedIn profile, he is a regional organizing director for the Ohio Democratic Party. He plays a major role in ensuring that Brown and Sykes triumph against senatorial candidate Bernie Moreno and congressional candidate Kevin Coughlin – both Republicans.

"Sykes has worked to deliver increased funding to help secure our border and stop the flow of illegal drugs like fentanyl," her campaign said in a statement to Fox News. "She also co-sponsored the bipartisan Dignity Act that would address border security and infrastructure, all while her opponent Coughlin uses the border to play politics."

Brown's campaign spokesman Matt Keyes also told Fox News that the senator has "worked with both parties to secure our southern border and keep Ohioans safe from fentanyl by cracking down on the chemical suppliers in China and drug cartels in Mexico." He added that Brown supports a bipartisan border security bill, and accused Moreno of resisting border efforts as "he isn't looking out for Ohioans."

Oyakawa's remarks deal a serious blow to Brown and Sykes

The two GOP candidates for the Hawkeye State replied to the accusations thrown by their Democratic rivals.

"Ohioans are already aware of Sykes' dangerous open border policies, and now we see what she and her team support behind closed doors," Coughlin told Fox News. He added that the congresswoman smears anyone who disagrees with her as "racist."

Reagan McCarthy, communications director for Moreno, told the outlet: "Ohio Democrats would rather keep the border open and continue to allow millions of illegals to enter our nation, rather than secure the border and protect our communities."

Several Ohio cities are facing an influx of migrants – often in the thousands, the Mail noted. The city of Lockland has taken in more than 3,500 illegals from Mauritania in northwestern Africa since last year. The city of Springfield has also seen an increase in migrants, mostly from the French-speaking Caribbean nation of Haiti.

"We don't know the exact number of Haitians now in Springfield," said Rose-Thamar Joseph, administrator of the nonprofit Haitian Community Help and Support Center. "But they come here because there are jobs and it is a much more affordable part of the country than Florida or New York."

Townhall remarked in a separate report that the Ohio GOP candidates are ahead of their Democratic rivals, as per various opinion polls. "With Brown on life support and Sykes looking vulnerable, Oyakawa's angry slurs against Ohioans are bound to hurt," it said.
