Netanyahu’s Jet Spotted In Athens

Netanyahu’s official aircraft, known as Wing of Zion, landed in Athens on Friday afternoon just hours after Tel Aviv launched strikes deep into Iranian territory. 

There has been wide spread speculation that the Israeli PM was fleeing his country amid fears of retaliation with Iran.

Social media users had also noted that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an international arrest warrant for Netanyahu. If he had arrived in Greece, the government would have been obliged to arrest him.

However, sources have denied that he flew to Athens, and a government official stated that “the Israeli ambassador was on the plane.”

But according to AA : The plane brought Noam Katz to Athens after commercial air traffic to and from Tel Aviv airport was suspended following Israel’s massive attack on Iran, CNN Greece reported, citing sources in the Foreign Ministry.

In aviation, a FIR is a designated airspace that provides air traffic control services such as flight information and alerting.

The ambassador was the sole passenger on board.
