Trans Swimmer Lia Thomas To Be Stripped Of All Medals

The University of Pennsylvania has agreed to strip Lia Thomas (aka William Thomas) of all medals and titles and to restore swimming records and titles to the female athletes who lost out to the transgender athlete.

The move comes after a probe by the Trump administration indicated that the college had violated Title IX protections by discriminating against female athletes.

The university will have to issue formal apologies to every biological female competitor who lost out to the biological male, marking the end to a landmark legal battle.

InfoWars reports: UPenn on Tuesday agreed to revise records and titles from the 2021-2022 season where Thomas had dominated biologically female competitors, going on to win an NCAA Division I national championship.

Additionally, UPenn has imposed a ban on transgender athletes from competing against women.

“Today’s resolution agreement with UPenn is yet another example of the Trump effect in action,” remarked Trump U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon.

“Thanks to the leadership of President Trump, UPenn has agreed both to apologize for its past Title IX violations and to ensure that women’s sports are protected at the University for future generations of female athletes.”

“Today is a great victory for women and girls not only at the University of Pennsylvania, but all across our nation. The Department commends UPenn for rectifying its past harms against women and girls, and we will continue to fight relentlessly to restore Title IX’s proper application and enforce it to the fullest extent of the law,” McMahon added.

Two female athletes who unfairly competed against Thomas also commented the university’s actions were monumental for women’s sports.

“As a former UPenn swimmer who had to compete against and share a locker room with a male athlete, I am deeply grateful to the Trump Administration for refusing to back down on protecting women and girls and restoring our rightful accolades,” stated former UPenn swimmer Paula Scanlan. “I am also pleased that my alma mater has finally agreed to take not only the lawful path, but the honorable one.”

Former University of Kentucky swimmer-turned-women’s sports activist Riley Gaines also commented that the decision was an example of President Donald Trump upholding one of his campaign promises, writing, “This Administration does not just pay lip service to women’s equality: it vigorously insists on that equality being upheld.”

“It is my hope that today demonstrates to educational institutions that they will no longer be allowed to trample upon women’s civil rights, and renews hope in every female athlete that their country’s highest leadership will not relent until they have the dignity, safety, and fairness they deserve,” Gaines said.

In accordance with resolutions required by the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), UPenn displayed a statement on their main website noting they would comply with Title IX.

While UPenn updated their records, OutKick.com points out “in comically predictable fashion, the liberal university’s record book added a special note highlighting the records transgender swimmer Lia Thomas set during the 2021-22 season while competing on the women’s team.”

The change in university policy follows a Title IX investigation opened by the Trump administration earlier this year, after Scanlan testified to Congress about her experience being forced to compete against, and change in a locker room with, a biological male.

The university was required to comply with the OCR’s resolutions, or risk referral to the Justice Department for enforcement proceedings.

After they agreed to comply, the Trump administration released a $175 million federal grant previously withheld from the university.
