Donald Trump announced on Monday that he had chosen Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance (R) to be his running mate.

Republican National Convention (RNC) delegates formally selected the former Trump critic after Trump announced on his social media platform that he had chosen Vance after “lengthy deliberation and thought”.

In 2016, 39 year old Vance was a fierce Trump critic but has since become one of his staunchest defenders embracing claims that the 2020 election was marred by widespread fraud.

The Biden campaign is already claiming that Vance will “enable” an “extreme MAGA agenda.”

According to Tucker Carlson, Trump’s pick for vice president is universally hated in Washington DC.

Vance, and I do think the negative case is often more powerful,” Tucker told the audience.

For this reason, Tucker thinks people should be “thrilled” about this VP pick.

Describing him as “one of the only members of the Senate with a happy marriage,” Tucker went on to say he believed DC swamp creatures detested Vance “because they thought he would be harder to manipulate and slightly less enthusiastic about killing people. That’s it.”
