The networks grumbled on Sunday, imagining their nightmare scenario -- a second Trump term. On NBC's Meet the Press, former host Chuck Todd was unintentionally hilarious about how this would ruin democracy, turn it into "kleptocracy," and worst of all, the Democrats might emulate the Republicans and start lying and exaggerating about their opponents.
God forbid if the Democrats start lying and exaggerating about Donald Trump and his fellow Jim Crow segregationists who are going to end democracy. Hilarious.
Jorge Bonilla joins the show for that faceplant, which Jorge calls "the wrath of the spurned gatekeeper." Todd is like double-spurned, since NBC pushed him aside for a Woman of Color. We didn't say Kristen Welker is a DEI hire, but she does satisfy your DEI requirements.
We also address all the claims Trump wants Liz Cheney dead, and Liz said this is how "dictators" talk. On Sunday, CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan asked: "Will the gender gap widen with Trump's sexist comments and his violent rhetoric like this mention of Liz Cheney?' Meet the Press host Kristen Welker echoed: "Plus, violent threats. Donald Trump suggests sending Liz Cheney to war and says she should have guns trained on her face."
We get the latest talk about how politicians have exploited Puerto Rico and how Florida's amendment process was altered by compassion about pregnant pigs. (You have to listen.)
