The View Claims Trump Pardons ‘Not Ethical,’ Praised Hunter Biden’s

President Trump issued a series of eyebrow raising pardons this week; drawing the ire of the liberal media which quickly showed their hypocrisy for pardons claimed to be “not ethical.” The Cackling Coven of ABC’s The View kicked off Wednesday’s episode by clutching their pearls over Trump’s pardons of well-connected people, despite the fact they praised President Biden’s sweeping pardons for his son Hunter, his family, and certain government officials who were not even charged with anything.

“So is anybody going to have a problem with this? Or – Cause this is the law and order president. Or are people already numb to this?” huffed moderator Whoopi Goldberg.

Joyless “comedian” Joy Behar suggested it was just another example of Trump hating poor people. “Well, according to this administration if you're a reality star with a lot of money and a tax cheat and you commit fraud, then that's good. We'll give you a pardon. But poor people on Medicaid or food stamps, according to this administration, those are the real moochers in the country,” she kvetched.

Fake Republican Ana Navarro bellowed about how she “sure as Hell” has a problem with the pardons. “And I think one of the things we as Americans have to do is not normalize this and not get accustomed to this and not allow it to continue to happen. Because, this is not normal, this is not honest, this is not ethical,” she declared.

Keep her point in mind, we’re going to come back to it.

As they were going to a commercial break, Goldberg pulled out a pocket Constitution to seemingly and falsely suggest Trump’s pardon power was unconstitutional:

When you want to know does this pass the smell test, all you got to do is check it out here. See, because there are things you don't do in America that we -- Constitution says it. It's not us saying it. It's saying we don't do this in America.

Keep her point in mind as well, as we take a trip back in time to last December to see what they said about Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter.

As NewsBusters reported at the time, Goldberg had proclaimed that pardons were “a president's prerogative.” “That's what presidents do every time. They do it every time. They pardon somebody. So I'm not sure where the pearl-clutching is happening now except that that's what folks want to do, but it seems kind of foolish,” she chided.

“You kind of knew he was going to do it given all that's happened, but maybe I'm just kooky,” she excused the unethicalness. She would go on to argue that “[Biden was still] the sitting president, and he can do whatever he wants to until his time is up.” Something she would never espouse for Trump.

As for Navarro, she boasted about lobbying Biden to pardon his son for the three felonies he was convicted of (including a gun crime): “I left him a handwritten note at his desk at the University of Delaware and told him, I hoped he pardoned Hunter.”

Speaking to Hunter, he beamed: “Hunter, your dad has given you a great, great gift, the gift of freedom, and taking this weight off your shoulders.”

Hypocrites.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: So is anybody going to have a problem with this? Or – Cause this is the law and order president. Or are people already numb to this?

JOY BEHAR: Well, according to this administration if you're a reality star with a lot of money and a tax cheat and you commit fraud, then that's good. We'll give you a pardon. But poor people on Medicaid or food stamps, according to this administration, those are the real moochers in the country. And that they have to be taken off of health care or food stamps.

Americans need to understand what's going on. That's what's going on. Somebody like this guy, Chrisley, whatever his name is -- I've never seen the show. I saw clips where he's running around being rich. He gets let off the hook. But somebody like -- anybody that we might know who needs help doesn't get the help from this administration.

ANA NAVARRO: You know, your question was, ‘is anyone have a problem with this?’ And I sure as hell do. And I think one of the things we as Americans have to do is not normalize this and not get accustomed to this and not allow it to continue to happen. Because, this is not normal, this is not honest, this is not ethical.

GOLDBERG: So, if you want to know how this really lays down, there's a booklet you can get from the ACLU. It's called The Constitution of the United States of America.

[Cheers and applause]

When you -- When you want to know does this pass the smell test, all you got to do is check it out here. See, because there are things you don't do in America that we -- Constitution says it. It's not us saying it. It's saying we don't do this in America.

I get that your whole family has figured out a way how to make money from the country. I get it. Okay. That's what you do. That's what you've always done. What I don't like is that you get pissy with other people doing the same thing. Either it's not good for everybody or it's good for everybody. Somebody make up their mind.

We'll be right back.
