One of the lessons of the 2024 presidential election was supposed to be that the left’s culture war was too alienating of normal people. Far-left MSNBC, who’ve lost half their viewers since the election, appear to have trouble understanding that no one wants to be Karened into accepting the left’s insane cultural impositions.
Take, for instance, Alex Wagner, and her insane open wherein she dismisses Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s refusal to share a restroom with biological men, now a reality after the election of Sarah (formerly Tim) McBride to Congress, as a “Flood the Zone” distraction (click “expand” to view full transcript):

ALEX WAGNER: If there is one hallmark of the Trump era, one strategy that has been employed to force through a radical agenda, it might be this one. First articulated by Steve Bannon all the way back in 2018. "The Democrats don't matter," Bannon said. "The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with stuff.” He didn't say "stuff," but you get the idea. Now, Steve Bannon was overstating the role of the media and understating the role of actual Democratic officials, but that "Flood the Zone" approach, that is something we have seen Trump do to great effect over the years. It is not that Trump is some sort of brilliant tactician, but on some level, Trump does seem to realize that the best way to avoid scrutiny is to simply do a whole lot of bad things, all at once, to keep everyone's attention divided.
Something we are seeing play out right now, today, this hour. Today, Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace introduced a bill that would ban transgender people on Capitol Hill from using the bathroom of the gender they identify with. It’s clear that this bill was designed to stoke controversy about Congresswoman-Elect Sarah McBride, who became the first openly transgender person ever elected to Congress in this past election. Under Mace's bill, Congresswoman-Elect McBride would be forced to use the men's room on Capitol Hill. It’s an obviously dehumanizing attempt to bully a new Member of Congress. It’s a clear attempt to gain the spotlight, given the fact that Representative Mace, just three years ago, cosponsored a bill that would have protected transgender people from exactly this kind of discrimination. And here is what she says, now.
REPORTER: Is this effort in response to Congresswoman McBride coming to Congress?
NANCY MACE: Yes, and absolutely. And if McBride wants to go to the gym, she can go to Planet Fitness, where they allow biological men to be around and in a room with private space with underage girls. Like, no thank you. It’s not going to happen, not on my watch.
WAGNER: The irony here is that if there are any alleged or accused sexual predators coming to town in January 2025, they may be two of Trump's own cabinet picks. Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth are both currently fighting allegations of sexual misconduct, allegations that both men deny. But Nancy Mace is worried about transgender people using her bathroom. This is literally what it means to Flood the Zones. We are now talking about Nancy Mace, and transgender panic and not, say, the unfitness of Trump’s Cabinet picks and the very real threats they pose to the agencies they are set to lead.
How DARE Nancy Mace refuse to submit to the cult of transgenderism and deny the ritual of toileting in close proximity to a biological man, female attire notwithstanding? Alex Wagner sat through this election, allowed it to marinate for two weeks, listened to every postmortem begging liberals not to be weird, and still found a way to vomit out this hot take. It’s a work of performance art, really.
What’s worse- by lumping Mace’s objections in with the controversies surrounding some of President-Elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks, Wagner is refusing to acknowledge Mace’s agency. For many American women, bathroom (and athletic field and locker room) access is a problem that must be carefully navigated. Some women make shopping decisions based on bathroom policies. Others, unfortunately, discover these policies by accident. Such was the case of the woman who wanted to have a nice spa day with her 6-year-old daughter, only to have to share said spa with a man. Per The Daily Mail, in 2020:
The woman in Sunday's video said: 'We got into the hot tub, my little six-year-old daughter and I, and we were having a great time, we were in there with other women, when a person, I guess, with a penis and a beard came over with two girlfriends'.
The woman with the penis, she said, then sat down naked.
'We were just uncomfortable, I was trying to block my daughter from seeing the penis on the person with the five-o-clock shadow who was not trying to look like a woman at all,' she recalled.
What zone is this concerned mother trying to flood? Likewise, what zone are former athletes such as Riley Gaines trying to flood? Suggesting that Mace standing up for women’s spaces as part of a political stratagem contributes to the erasure of women and of women’s spaces.
Mace finds it all weird, as well.
This is so strange to me. 25 years ago I was celebrated as the first woman to graduate from a formerly all-male military college. Today I’m being attacked as a “bigot” for fighting for women's rights.

The radical Left has lost its mind.
Wagner’s insane rant proves that MSNBC has learned nothing over these past two weeks, choosing instead to retreat into their warm Resistance cocoon. In the real world, we will continue to speak out for the right of women to not have to share private facilities with men.
