Billionaire Elon Musk and Argentina’s libertarian President Javier Milei met for the first time at Tesla’s factory in Austin, Texas on Friday, sharing many opinions and ideas about using market solutions to solve contemporary problems.

Following their meeting, the two men pledged to work together to promote free-market solutions. This commitment was announced by President Milei's spokesman, Manuel Adorni, in a statement posted on X, the social media platform owned by Musk.

“Great meeting, great moment, great future,” Adorni said, posting a picture of the floppy-haired anarcho-capitalist Porteno posing with the autistic Afrikaner entrepreneur.

In a later and longer post, Adorni shared more detailed remarks about the points of alignment betweeen the two individualistic mavericks.

“President Javier Milei held a meeting today with the co-founder and CEO of TESLA, Elon Musk, after visiting the company's industrial plant in Austin, capital of the state of Texas, United States. Javier Milei and Elon Musk agreed on the need for free markets and defend the ideas of freedom” Adorni wrote in Spanish.

“The President and the businessman spoke in Texas about the importance of eliminating bureaucratic obstacles that keep investors away. Musk emphasized boosting the world's birth rate, emphasizing that lack of population growth can be terminal for our civilization. The Argentine President offered him collaboration in the conflict that social network X is maintaining in Brazil within the framework of the judicial and political conflict in that country,” Adorni continued, referring to an ongoing dispute between X and the a Brazilian judge over free speech issues.

The post added, “Both agreed on the importance of technological development for the progress of humanity and the need to establish clear and stable rules of the game in order to bring in companies that promote this development.”

“The President ratified the role of entrepreneurs in society. The businessman, in turn, was committed to the ideas of freedom and pro-market governments that fight in this regard. Finally, the President and the American businessman agreed to hold a large event soon in Argentina to promote the ideas of freedom,” Adorni concluded.

During the meeting, President Milei also offered his support for Musk in the ongoing dispute over the social media platform X, which is currently playing out in Brazil. This show of support was highlighted in the statement by Adorni.

Elon Musk, a South African-born American entrepreneur, is renowned for his pivotal role in several high-profile technology companies. He is the CEO and lead designer of SpaceX, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc., and co-founder of Neuralink and The Boring Company. Musk's ventures often revolve around his vision to change the world and humanity, including reducing global warming through sustainable energy production and consumption, and reducing the risk of human extinction by making life multi-planetary.

His work with Tesla has significantly influenced the auto industry by pushing the boundaries of electric vehicles, and SpaceX has been instrumental in advancing rocket technology to enable space exploration more affordable.

Javier Milei, an Argentine economist and politician, gained popularity with his libertarian views and outspoken criticism of traditional political structures in Argentina. Elected as the President of Argentina in 2023, Milei is known for his advocacy for free-market policies, his opposition to the central bank, and his dramatic proposals to overhaul Argentina's economy.

Before entering politics, Milei was a frequent commentator on Argentine television, where he criticized the high levels of government spending and economic intervention in Argentina. He is even known for participating in the “cosplay” subculture and has been pictured in the attire of “Captain Ancap,” a fictional superhero espousing ultra-libertarian ideals.
