The appearance of Kyle Rittenhouse at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter event at the University of Memphis sparked escalating tensions and raised concerns about potential violence as protestors mobilized to disrupt the gathering, The Post Millennial reports.

On Wednesday, Black Lives Matter protestors converged on the university campus, unleashing a barrage of derogatory chants targeting Rittenhouse, including the incendiary slogan “Kyle is a killer,” as captured in footage posted by TPUSA Frontlines and Julio Rosas.

The demonstrators subsequently infiltrated the event venue, brazenly tapping the names of individuals involved in Rittenhouse's self-defense case on the seats, with school officials purportedly failing to intervene to halt these disruptive actions.

Adding fuel to the fire, protestors took to social media to publicly disclose the personal information, including phone numbers and addresses, of the university's TPUSA chapter president, as reported by TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

“Leftwing agitators are swarming the University of Memphis ahead of tonight's campus event with Kyle Rittenhouse, chanting 'Lock his a** up' and later 'F*** his a** up,'” Kirk lamented on X.

Rittenhouse would eventually issue a “quick update” on X. Letting his followers know that he made it back safety following the event.

“Great event. I think it's funny a lot of the media is saying we got booted off stage, in reality, we uh did a hard cut off time, and happened to leave at that,” Rittenhouse said in the posted video.

The TPUSA event, originally scheduled for Wednesday and greenlit by the university since mid-February, encountered last-minute hurdles as university officials raised objections to the ticketing methods employed.

In response, TPUSA engaged in discussions with school authorities, ultimately agreeing to post a new ticketing link for the event. However, this adjustment inadvertently provided protestor groups with access to the new ticketing information, enabling them to disseminate it among their followers.

Expressing frustration over the university's handling of the situation, TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet lamented the unprecedented interference in the event's organization.

Kolvet underscored the magnitude of the disruption, revealing that the university's actions had severely curtailed the seating arrangements, leaving hundreds of students disappointed and unable to gain entry to the venue.

“The University of Memphis has taken unprecedented actions to undermine our event. Seizing control of seating arrangements and the ticketing system —on the day of the event— has never happened in our many years of campus organizing. Despite being promised control over 50 seats, we’re now restricted to just a single row of 8 seats. This abrupt change will result in hundreds of disappointed students whose tickets will no longer grant them entrance into the venue,” Kolvet said.

Kolvet also raised serious allegations against school administrators, asserting, “Most shockingly, we have gathered credible information that school administrators have leaked the new ticketing information to protester groups so they can reserve large numbers of newly issued tickets and sabotage the event.”
