Recent revelations uncovered that the lawyer who convinced E. Jean Carroll to sue Donald Trump for his denial of her rape allegations is a mega Biden donor.
The Post Millennial reports that lawyer George Conway, formerly married to ex-Trump aide Kellyanne Conway and once a contender for a role in the prior administration, has donated nearly a million dollars to support Joe Biden's reelection campaign.
Conway wrote a check for $929,600, the maximum allowable contribution, to the Biden Victory Fund.
Axios said democratic sources revealed that Conway will also headline a reception in Washington, DC to actively support the president's reelection endeavors. The event, orchestrated by political consultant Melissa Moss and public affairs executive Susan Brophy, is slated for April 24.
Moss reportedly told CNN that when she asked Conway to headline the fundraiser, she did not ask for any money. Conway interjected, however, saying, “I want to make a statement, I’m all in.”
“This election is about nothing less than whether we'll continue to live in a democracy under the rule of law,” Conway later told the outlet. “That's priceless, so I consider my contribution to be a bargain.”
Conway became a massive Trump critic after he failed to land a job in the former president’s administration. Since then, he has turned towards avenues that only add to Trump’s legal woes, including pushing Carroll to sue.
Bloomberg reports Carroll filed her first defamation lawsuit against Trump in 2019 after he claimed her rape allegations were merely a ploy to boost sales of her latest book at the time.
Carroll revealed in her 2023 testimony that she began contemplating legal action against Trump after conversing with Conway at a party, describing him as a knowledgeable lawyer well-versed in the intricacies of such matters.
“Before that, you had no intention of suing Donald Trump, as we just heard,” a Trump lawyer stated, to which Carroll agreed.
Conway has been outspoken about other criticisms about Trump over recent years, going as far as to suggest the former president’s mental health may be deteriorating amid mounting legal challenges. In addition to his re-election campaign.
George Conway actively participates in The Lincoln Project, a conservative anti-Trump group. He frequently appears as a legal analyst on MSNBC, where he consistently criticizes Trump as a lawless authoritarian who has disgraced the GOP. He also praises special counsel Jack Smith and other prosecutors for bringing criminal charges against him.
Conway has openly expressed his complete disdain for the former president and his MAGA movement, which he perceives as detrimental to the Republican Party and conservatism. As a Never Trumper, he left the GOP in 2018 and has remained an independent ever since, firmly opposing Trumpism.
Conway's X profile is rife with anti-Trump content, with his cover image containing the slogan, “Vote for Joe, not the psycho.”
