Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that he wasn’t concerned about the possibility of his death in the event that he wins the White House, even in the face of targeting from a government agency or corporate entity.

While appearing on NewsNation on Wednesday evening, Kennedy was responding to a listener’s question on host Chris Cuomo’s show regarding potential dangers when taking on established institutions within the public and private sectors.

“You’re going after some of the largest entities that exist: Big pharma. Big agra. Big government. The CIA. The FBI,” said the caller, who identified himself only as Will. “We elect you, right. Are you going to live? Are they going to come after you?”

“That’s not something, Will, that I worry about. I’m not stupid about it,”Kennedy responded. “The White House has denied me Secret Service protection, but I do take precautions and I have a very good security firm.”

“I was raised in a family where we were taught, No. 1, there’s a lot worse things than dying,” Kennedy said, in reference to several of his past family members who have been assassinated. “One of those things is living like a slave or having our children lose all their freedoms that so many generations of Americans died to give us and to protect.”

“We need to make sacrifices for our country,” he concluded.

Kennedy has previously expressed his belief that there is “overwhelming evidence” for the claim that the U.S. Intelligence Community, particularly the CIA, were at least in part responsible for the assassination of his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy,

“There is overwhelming evidence that the CIA was involved in his murder,” Kennedy said in an interview with John Catsimatidis on New York City radio station WABC 770. “I think it’s beyond a reasonable doubt at this point.”

“When my uncle was president, he was surrounded by a military-industrial complex and intelligence apparatus that was constantly trying to get him to go to war in Laos, Vietnam, etc.,” Kennedy said. “He refused. He said that the job of the American presidency is to keep the nation out of war.”

Kennedy also questioned the CIA’s possible involvement in the assassination of his father, Robert Kennedy Sr., but acknowledged that the evidence in that case was far more “circumstantial” than with his uncle.

“We do not have the really strong documentary testimonial evidence that we have with my uncle,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy’s candidacy is viewed largely as a long-shot, but many Democrats are attempting to get him off the ballot for fear that he could take votes away from President Joe Biden in an already hotly contested matchup between the sitting president and former President Donald Trump.

These concerns were amplified following Kennedy’s decision to bring Nicole Shanahan on as his Vice Presidential pick. Shanahan, a millionaire Silicon Valley lawyer and tech entrepreneur, has been criticized by conservatives for her far left background.

Democrats believe that Kennedy paired with Shanahan will become a “spoiler” ticket, diverting votes from Biden and facilitating the return of former President Donald Trump to the White House, ABC News reported.

“All he can do is take away votes from President Biden and make it easier for Donald Trump to win. And we simply can’t afford to let that happen,” said Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Austin Davis.
