Newly released home surveillance video from one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mansions shows the shocking moment that federal investigators in tactical gear rushed into the home and escorted his sons out as they served one of two search warrants on the star’s properties last week.
On Tuesday afternoon, Misa Hylton, Combs former partner and the mother of two of his children, shared the clip on her Instagram, revealing that her sons had retained lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman, who previously represented high-power figures, such as cartel lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and mafioso John Gotti Jr.
“Did Justin need several laser beams from firearms pointed at his chest?? Did Christian need a gun pointed at the back of his head while he was handcuffed??” she wrote, adding that she intends to investigate the use of force in the raid.
“The over zealous and overtly militarized force used against my sons Justin and Christian is deplorable,” Hylton wrote. “If these were the sons of a non-Black celebrity, they would not have been handled with the same aggression.”
The video shows armored vehicles carrying officers in tactical gear arriving in the home and entering the compound. Police swarm the building, detaining several individuals, two of whom Hylton identified as the sons she shares with Combs, Justin and Christian.
“My son's Attorney Jeffrey Lichtman is investigating the excessive use of force which was unnecessary and certainly not required by this search warrant,” Hylton added.
The raid was a part of a federal sex-trafficking probe into Combs, who has denied similar allegations in a series of recent lawsuits.
Combs' ex-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, sued him in November, alleging rape and other abuse. While that lawsuit was settled a day later without Combs admitting to wrongdoing, since then, at least four other accusers filed lawsuits against the billionaire, including three women and a male music producer, Lil Rod, real name Rodney Jones.
Combs has faced increasing criticism and scrutiny since the raids, with several likening him to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Earlier on Monday, former “To Catch A Predator” host Chris Hansen appeared on Fox News to discuss Combs and the charges against him, arguing that fame and fortune clouded his good judgment, much like Epstein.
“These guys get drunk with power, allegedly — Diddy has said that these allegations are false — but they get drunk with power and all of a sudden they lose their balance and what's right and what's wrong, and they're insulated, and they get everybody telling them they're great,” he argued.
Combs has yet to be charged with a crime and has denied all accusations of wrongdoing. He fled the country in the wake of the raid, but has since returned, according to reports from KTVB.
He has characterized the accusations as an attempt by his enemies at collecting cash from him, given his multi-billion dollar net worth.
“Lil Rod (Rodney Jones) is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday,” Combs' lawyer, Shawn Holley, previously told Fox News. “His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.”
