On Saturday, Former President Donald Trump slammed President Joe Biden after he marked Easter Sunday, one of the most important days in the Christian faith, as “Transgender Day of Visibility.

In the statement from the Trump campaign, Trump referred to Biden’s declaration of “Trans Visibility Day” on Easter Sunday as “Blasphemous,” and called on the self-declared “devout Catholic” to issue an apology to Christians across America.

“It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and formally proclaimed Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,’” the statement began. “Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith.”

“We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only – the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” the statement concluded.

The White House issued a Friday statement proclaiming Transgender Day of Visibility would be falling on Easter. “On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives.”

“Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans:  You are loved.  You are heard.  You are understood.  You belong.  You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back,” it continued. “NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.”

Trump was just one of many prominent conservative and Christian voices that bashed Biden over the decision to place “Trans Day of Visibility” on Easter Sunday.

Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called Biden out on X, writing, “Joe Biden just proclaimed that ‘Transgender Visibility Day’ is on Sunday, March 31st. I wonder how he came up with that date.”

Conservative commentator Benny Johnson shared a screenshot of the White House statement, writing alongside it, “What a slap in the face to all Christians in America…”

“Joe Biden has proclaimed Easter Sunday as ‘Transgender Day of Visibility,’” wrote Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV) wrote on X. “What a coincidence on the timing, right? This is a direct assault on Christianity. Yet another attack on religion and traditions by this administration.”

“Our ‘catholic’ president has chosen the highest holiday on the Christian calendar to celebrate transgenderism. This man is a demon,” wrote the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh in a fiery post on X.

Biden is facing increasing criticism over his “Catholic faith.” Biden has repeatedly stated that he is a “devout Catholic,” but controversies around his decisions, many of which go directly against Christian belief, have called that into question for many. Even Pope Francis has labeled Biden’s stance on abortion as “incoherence.”
