Meanwhile, another landslide disaster occurred in Pekalongan, a 100 meter high cliff in Lembur Village, Kandangserang District, Pekalongan Regency, blocking the village road. So, to get in and out of the village, residents are forced to look for detours of several kilometers.
"The landslide occurred at 12.00 WIB, heavy rain in this area made the cliffs unable to withstand the pouring water," said Head of Kandangserang Police, Ipda Slamet.
Apart from landslides in the form of soil and rocks, continued Slamet, heavy rain accompanied by wind also caused a number of trees to fall. To open road access, residents, assisted by a number of police officers and the TNI, went down to clean up the material covering the road connecting the villages.
Considering that the condition of the hill still has the potential for further landslides, Slamet stated that together with the relevant agencies efforts were being made to provide security.
