SOTT FOCUS: Dutch Health Minister Defends Government's Covid Measures: "We Were Bound by NATO Obligations"

Comment: Finally, after almost 5 years, someone in public office appears to have let the cat out of the bag: defending her role in passing Covid laws and rules, the Dutch health minister tipped her hat to NATO and a 'deep state' counter-terrorism outfit that was first set up in the Netherlands 'to defeat Islamist terrorism'.

Given that NATO is a supranational organization, this would strongly suggest that ALL NATO member-states 'ran Covid' in more or less the same way, and would go a long way towards explaining why Western governments all seemed to operate 'in lockstep' throughout the pandemic: they were working to a centrally-controlled military beat, and one which apparently operated under the auspices of NATO, via military-intelligence 'counter-terrorism units' established after 9/11...

Almost five years after the start of Corona, I understand much better what happened. Last week, the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport explained that the Corona policy was commissioned by the [Dutch] National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) and NATO.

So it was a military operation that had nothing to do with healthcare. It's this video of just three minutes that makes so much clear to me. I invite you to listen carefully to what the Dutch Minister of Health, Fleur Agema, says here. Politician Ms. Paulusma also says something briefly, but she's still following the line of 'infectious disease control', which is what I also did for a long time.

Below you'll find a transcript of the video:
Dutch Health Minister Agema: I did explain that to you as an answer to your previous question and quite a few times in recent weeks people said that I had a change in opinion in all those moments, and in those moments that wasn't the case. But it's true that this assignment that I received upon taking office, isn't one that's in line with what I've always said from that side and that's painful, but I still have to carry out the assignments that I received upon taking office. Nevertheless, and I just told you that as well, that shortly after assuming the position, I was informed about resilience and the broader context in which we find ourselves and the overlap that gives with these posts on pandemic readiness. And I'd have to deal with that and find a solution for it, because we're bound by NATO obligations. So at this moment, an inventory is being taken under the leadership of the NCTV on what needs to happen. There's some basic stuff that we actively saw during the corona crisis and then there's this extra investment where there's a large overlap, if not a full overlap. And then there are other issues that we're identifying, such as: What if the situation escalates and what if we need to meet our NATO obligations and what if it escalates further, I'm mapping all of this out. And under the leadership of the NCTV, in the spring - and this is for the next budget - we'll be coming with coverages and solutions.

Politician Paulusma: But chairman, then I conclude that this minister hasn't ensured pandemic preparedness. The minister is moving so quickly that I can no longer keep up, and neither can the field. And also that she's ignoring signals. There are IC nurses who say that we're not going to make it. The Municipal Health Service said the same. They're not concerned with talking to NATO, they have to - tomorrow if needed - treat patients. And maybe the minister can conclude that if there are so many signals, it can perhaps be said that minister Agema is the ghost driver on the road ignoring all the signals and crashing hard into a wall at the expense of patients and the average Dutch citizen, and I find that particularly concerning.

Dutch Health Minister Agema: Thank you chairman. But I do find this a bit of an overdrive. When it comes to the national function, infectious disease control, that's a policy that's recently been implemented and will continue. And that's very important, that we have a coordinating authority, that's in charge, and for example oversees joint purchasing and scaling up. And we also need that in the event of a disaster or NATO obligations. So that's policy that recently has been started and which will continue. What's currently on hold is the capacity expansion of the Municipal Health Service, and the trajectory to improve the modeling of the RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment). And I think these two components that are currently on hold won't collapse the entire healthcare system at the moment a pandemic comes into effect. Out of all the components, there are two that are on hold. And when it comes to Decision 2026 and beyond, we are talking about the IV/ICT, LCPS, national healthcare reserve, the stocks of personal protective equipment, sewage surveyors, and infectious disease control, but that will be addressed. It's still on the agenda. So at the moment, there are two components on hold.

And in this minute, the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport summarizes that the Corona policy over the past few years was determined by the NCTV and NATO:
Dutch Health Minister Agema: So at this moment, an inventory is being taken under the leadership of the NCTV on what needs to happen. There's some basic stuff that we actively saw during the corona crisis and then there's this extra investment where there's a large overlap, if not a full overlap. And under the leadership of the NCTV, in the spring - and this is for the next budget - we'll be coming with coverages and solutions.
I understand the comment from Ms. Paulusma; she seems to think that Pandemic Preparedness is the same as infectious disease control. Before 2020, the Municipal Health Service was there to help combat infectious diseases like measles, whooping cough, etc. This led to my confusion throughout 2020 when the Municipal Health Service first set up expensive 'testing sites' and later 'vaccination sites' in 2021. Suddenly, money seemed to not play a role anymore, whereas prior to 2020 there had been budget cuts in healthcare and general practitioners (GPs) were careful with additional diagnostics like PCR tests. I explained this during my first conversation at De Nieuwe Wereld, which was in June 2021.

After this fragment, in which the Minister of Health tells the House of Representatives that the Corona policy came from the NCTV and ultimately NATO, I actually understand everything. It explains why there was censorship of critics and especially critical doctors. It explains the police visit to me in Dalfsen in 2021, supposedly because of a tweet about vaccination buses the night before. It explains the letters and an investigation by the Inspectorate, based on anonymous and unfounded reports that I was spreading disinformation. It explains the government and the Ministry of Health's unwillingness to release the WOB documents, it explains why they're redacted and that the minutes of the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) are guarded as if they were state secrets.

The NCTV governs this country, but prefers to do so behind closed doors. Because we shouldn't want democracy and transparency when the government and NCTV start designating unsuspecting citizens as threats to national security. For unsuspecting GPs like myself, it was bizarre to experience, and of course my trust hasn't grown because of this. But I'd rather know this than not know it, and I now understand from which direction I've been attacked over the past few years.

For a long time, I didn't understand any of it, because I wasn't denying Corona (I was called a 'corona denier' in 2020 when I was critical of face masks that don't work against a respiratory virus) and I was thinking from a healthcare perspective, making sick people better, curing people of COVID-19. Explaining things to people, reassuring people where possible. So just doing my job, which I've been doing for years.

But it was about Pandemic Preparedness. Isn't that the same as infectious disease control then? No. Pandemic Preparedness is research primarily conducted by virologists to protect humanity against future pandemics.

That sounds very nice, but the reality is far less appealing. The trilogy by Jan Bonte that's about to be released is about SARS-CoV-2, the possibility of a lab escape from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, previous lab escapes, Pandemic Preparedness, and One Health.

Comment: We also need to consider the possibility that the virus didn't originate from the Wuhan lab, but from the US bioweapons lab at Fort Detrick in Maryland:
Did COVID-19 escape Fort Detrick vaccine trial? Evidence that virus originated in US bioweapons lab

Pandemic Preparedness is about protecting the population against future pandemics, but in reality, enormous sums of money are involved, and in practice, research is conducted on pathogens such as viruses to make them more dangerous to humans through 'gain of function' research. In recent years, a prestigious Pandemic and Disaster Preparedness Center was opened at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Of course, I can't summarize Jan Bonte's trilogy in one tweet, but you can already order it here so you can better understand what I'm writing now. I've already read the trilogy and I understand much better now why someone like Marion Koopmans is so keen on Pandemic Preparedness, One Health, but also that SARS-CoV-2 is a zoonosis.

A trilogy written by Dutch neurologist Jan Bonte: "The Wuhan Trilogy. Corona, escaped from the lab!?"
This explanation from Minister Agema of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport from last week explains almost everything that has happened with critical doctors and with me over the past few years. I still don't understand why other GPs reported me without contacting me first, but I actually think that they allowed themselves to be swept along and frightened, and started to believe that critics were the danger in the 'war against the virus'.

© XThis is a letter Els van Veen received from the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate in which they write: "The inspectorate has received a report about you. The report concerns your statements regarding COVID-19 and related topics, such as the vaccine. According to the report, the statements you make are incorrect. The report also mentions police action against you due to possible intimidating messaging on Twitter regarding vaccination activities of a 'prikbus' (vaccination bus). [...] The inspectorate expects doctors to adhere to the norms, guidelines, and attitudes of their profession and to follow the COVID-19 guidelines applicable to doctors."
Now I also understand the incredibly harsh treatment of GP Elens @hapelensrob, who saw ten people in a row recover from COVID-19 after he prescribed them Hydroxychloroquine. He gave that medication off-label, but in consultation, to people who were seriously ill from Covid-19 and would probably die.

Comment: See our article on GP Elens: Dutch GP Cures Coronavirus Patients, But The Dutch Government Isn't Happy

Was the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport happy? No, because COVID-19 was a military operation. Only this wasn't honestly said by the Ministry of Health and now it has been by Minister Agema, but almost five years later. The Inspectorate took action because Elens cured patients. That wasn't the intention. Actually, I now think that the later vaccines weren't even the goal, but rather the corona access pass and 2G system and far-reaching control over citizens and their actions regarding flying, meat consumption, etc.

Fortunately, that didn't succeed. Fortunately, the vaccines didn't work as well as hoped. Vaccinated people still got sick from Corona. There was too much resistance from 'wappies' [a Dutch derogatory term used for 'conspiracy theorists' - ed., Sott.net] and 'disinformation-spreading' doctors. It also fits perfectly with a military operation that I've seen several times on the Museumplein. That demonstrating was banned, that innocent citizens were beaten up by the riot police, bitten by police dogs, that water cannons were deployed. Right there on the Museumplein, we weren't demonstrating by (dangerously) sitting on the highway, we didn't glue ourselves to the asphalt to get our way. We were just concerned, we didn't understand it and were mistreated by the police, by the justice system and, as I now understand, with the approval of the NCTV and Mr. Aalbersberg @PJAalbersberg, who in May 2024 was still talking about the 'challenges that lie ahead of us'.

© XA tweet from the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security, Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg: "The young history of the NCTV has many memorable moments. It's great to look back with my predecessors and look ahead to the challenges that lie before us."

Comment: On the picture above, the current Dutch PM, Dick Schoof, can also be seen (second to the left) who interestingly served on this NCTV board from 2013-2018. See our article on him here: The joke that is Dutch politics: The Dutch voted for change but got another wolf in sheep's clothing instead

But Corona isn't over, it wasn't about health. It was a military operation, the Minister of Health obeys NATO and NCTV.

I don't feel happy about this confession from the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, but I'm relieved that I now understand much better why I was treated the way I was treated.

You can't really call it a democracy anymore when a minister openly admits that she serves the unelected NCTV and NATO and doesn't think she needs to be accountable to the House of Representatives, let alone to Dutch citizens. It gives me an extremely unsafe feeling that a group of people from the NCTV, with closed visors and paid for by tax-money, can issue orders to crack down hard on GPs like me and ensure that we can lose our livelihood. What has happened in recent years does not correspond with the image I have of a constitutional state.

But, as I already wrote, I prefer to know how things really are, rather than remaining in the dark and not understanding why people and ministers act the way they do. There is now clarity: Upon taking office, the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport received orders from the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism, and she must adhere to them.

I want to conclude with the Hippocratic Oath, which I took in 1997 and which has been and will remain a guiding principle for me.

I swear that I will practice medicine to the best of my ability in service to my fellow human beings. I will care for the sick, promote health, and alleviate suffering.
I place the interests of the patient first and respect their opinions.
I will do no harm to the patient. I will listen and inform them well.
I will keep confidential what has been entrusted to me. I will promote the medical knowledge of myself and others. I recognize the limits of my abilities.
I will be open and accountable.
I recognize my responsibility to society and will promote the availability and accessibility of healthcare.
I will not abuse my medical knowledge, even under pressure.
I will uphold the honor of the profession of medicine.

So help me, God Almighty
