President Joe Biden appeared to get frustrated with a reporter during a press conference Thursday at the G-7, accusing him of failing to “play by the rules” when he asked a question about the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

Coming amid a series of video clips — many of which showcased Biden’s apparent confusion in several situations as he and other world leaders met in Italy — was one from Biden taking questions at a rare press conference.

The reporter could be heard asking Biden ” … about what more, if anything, the U.S. could do to drive toward a peace agreement. Thank you.”

“I wish you guys would play by the — by the rules a little bit,” Biden responded, apparently peeved that the reporter was not sticking to the topic he wanted to discuss — namely, the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia and what he wanted the United States and others to do to support Ukraine going forward.

“I’m here to talk about a critical situation in Ukraine, and you asked me another subject. How ’bout — I’ll be happy to answer in detail later,” he said. “But the bottom line is — we made and agreement, I’ve laid out an approach that has been endorsed by the U.N. Security Council, by the G-7, by the Israelis, and — and the biggest hang-up so far is Hamas refusing to sign on even though they have something … similar.”

“Whether [unintelligible] comes to fruition remains to be seen, we’re going to continue to push,” Biden continued. “I don’t have a final answer for you.”
