FBI Confirms Trump Was Struck By A Bullet

TOPSHOT - Republican candidate Donald Trump is seen with blood on his face surrounded by secret service agents as he is taken off the stage at a campaign event at Butler Farm Show Inc. in Butler, Pennsylvania, July 13, 2024. Donald Trump was hit in the ear in an apparent assassination attempt by a gunman at a campaign rally on Saturday, in a chaotic and shocking incident that will fuel fears of instability ahead of the 2024 US presidential election. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed on Friday that former President Donald Trump was, in fact, struck in the head by a bullet during an assassination attempt two weeks ago.

“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the FBI said in an official statement.

The Bureau’s statement comes after FBI Director Christopher Wray sparked intense controversy this week when he falsely suggested that something other than a bullet may have struck Trump.

Wray told the House Judiciary Committee that it was not clear what hit Trump, that there was “some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.”
