Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said the quiet part out loud during a Monday morning interview, admitting to NBC’s Savannah Guthrie that Democrats had forced President Joe Biden out of his 2024 reelection campaign because they feared he could not win.

Less than a full 24 hours after Biden announced he would not accept the party’s 2024 nomination — but stopped short of resigning the presidency — Guthrie asked Schiff the question that has been plaguing many Americans: If everyone is so concerned that Biden is not fit for another campaign and another term in office, why are they not equally concerned about his ability to remain in office until next January?

“If you were sufficiently concerned that you came out publicly and said he shouldn’t run, how do you justify him serving as president right now if he doesn’t have the competence to run?” Guthrie asked.

“Well, my concern was whether he would be able to win, whether he would be able to prosecute the case against Donald Trump,” Schiff said. “I have every confidence in his abilities as president and his ability to continue doing the remarkable job that he’s doing, but I am very excited to throw my full support behind the vice president.”

Schiff essentially admitted that even though Democratic primary voters had overwhelmingly selected Biden, he was ready and willing to throw in with the other high-profile Democrats and major donors to negate their votes out of fear that Biden would not be able to win against Trump in November.

As CNN commentator Scott Jennings had stated earlier, “The party of democracy is now organizing a coup!”
