Scott Jennings Floats Hulk Hogan As Replacement For Rubio In U.S. Senate

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - OCTOBER 27: Hulk Hogan takes the stage during a campaign rally for Republican presidential nominee, former U.S. President Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden on October 27, 2024 in New York City. Trump closed out his weekend of campaigning in New York City with a guest list of speakers that includes his running mate Republican Vice Presidential nominee, U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Tesla CEO Elon Musk, UFC CEO Dana White, and House Speaker Mike Johnson, among others, nine days before Election Day. While a number of conservatives on X have floated CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings as a potential White House Press Secretary for President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration, Jennings also offered a suggestion as to who should replace Marco Rubio (R-FL) in the U.S. Senate: Hulk Hogan.

Responding to the news that Rubio was likely to be named Trump’s incoming Secretary of State, Jennings on Tuesday argued that the former pro-wrestler would be a great addition to Congress’ upper chamber in Rubio’s absence.

“If Marco Rubio does, in fact, become secretary of state, we will need a new senator from the state of Florida,” Jennings began. “We need someone with Rubio‘s national security credentials. Now, there is one Floridian who can do it. He stood up to the Russians and the Iranians in the 1980s when he defeated the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff, two of America‘s most lethal folks.”

“He is a real American, he fights for the rights of every man, and he knows the courage is the thing that keeps us free. Ladies and gentlemen, I announce — Ron DeSantis, get on it — Hulk Hogan for U.S. Senate,” Jennings continued, prompting laughter around the table. “And whatcha gonna do, Chuck Schumer, when Hulkamania runs wild on you, brother?”

Jennings opened his blazer to reveal a bright yellow t-shirt — emblazoned with the word “Hulkamania” across the front — for emphasis.

The CNN Republican, a longtime fan of the former wrestler, got to meet him when he spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last July.
