Scott Jennings Sums Up The Reason For Trump’s Political Comeback In Just Three Words

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings weighed in on President-elect Donald Trump’s political comeback, saying that his ability to turn things around could be summed up in just three words: “breaker of narratives.”

Jennings, who often finds himself at odds with most of the other commentators on the left-leaning network, explained that Trump had only been able to prevail against the legacy media narrative because he steadfastly refused to let it — and them — define him.

“Trump is having a helluva ride – the greatest political comeback story in American history. Plus, he just destroys one wrongheaded political narrative after another,” Jennings captioned video of the exchange when he shared it via X.

When asked to talk about the impact Trump had had on “the shape of U.S. politics” in the past year, Jennings unloaded.

“Well, first of all, it’s the greatest comeback story in American political history,” he began. “I mean, when you think about all the things that you just listed that he survived from the political stuff to the lawfare to the assassination attempts to the Democrats changing out their campaign — when you think about all the unprecedented stuff that he had to survive in order to come back from losing in 2020 to winning not just the Electoral College but the popular vote in 2024. There’s never been anything like it.”

“One of the superpowers of Donald Trump is that he’s the breaker of narratives,” Jennings continued, noting that all the polls and legacy media outlets had flooded the conversation with claims that he could never win, that the legal cases against him would destroy his chances of political victory, or that Vice President Kamala Harris was the strongest candidate Democrats had ever put forward.

“Trump is the breaker of narratives,” Jennings repeated. “And I think he exposed, really, the political information-distribution complex in this election for what it is, which is often a distributor of narratives and not facts.”
