Donald Trump has authorized a fundraiser for his supporter who was tragically killed during a failed assassination attempt on the former president during a campaign rally on Saturday.

The GoFundMe account, which has been promoted by eldest Trump son Don Jr., has already raised more than $800,000.

“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” the fundraiser says. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover.”

“May God bless and unite our nation,” it adds.

As of Sunday morning, more than $838,000 had been raised, with a goal of $1 million.

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also promoted the GoFundMe. He and his wife Apoorva donated $30,000 to the man’s family.

“Apoorva and I mourn for the Trump supporters who were killed or wounded in the brutal assassination attempt,” he posted to X. “Please join us in supporting these proud Americans & their families. God intervened on behalf of our nation last night, let’s do our small part.”

Trump on Saturday night was shot at during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In a post online, he said he heard a bullet zip by his right ear, which was pierced by a bullet. After the Secret Service rushed in to surround Trump, the former president brushed them off, threw his fist in the air, and repeatedly shouted, “Fight.” His supporters broke out in a “U-S-A” chant.

The Trump supporter who died has been confirmed to be a male. Two other Trump supporters were critically injured, according to reports; they have been confirmed to be males, too.

Trump said in a post to Truth Social on Sunday morning that his love goes out to those injured at the rally.

“Our love goes out to the other victims and their families,” he wrote. “We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed.”

In the same message, the former president emphasized, “it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win.”
