Former President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will be returning to the town where he survived an assassination attempt earlier this month to hold a rally honoring those who were shot.

The former president was shot by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks on July 13 during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as he spoke to thousands of supporters who were in attendance.

“I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO,” Trump posted on social media. “WHAT A DAY IT WILL BE — FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS.”

50-year-old Corey Comperatore was killed nearly instantly after rounds that were fired at Trump hit a large group of supporters behind the stage.

David Dutch, 57, was released from the hospital this week after spending a significant amount of time in critical condition.
