A leaked medical report of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif’s chromosome analysis reportedly reveals the fighter is male.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) permitted Khelif to compete in the women’s Olympic boxing at the Paris Games last year, despite failed gender tests in 2019 and 2023. Khelif dominated the women’s welterweight final, taking home the gold without dropping a single round the entire Olympics.
“Chromosome analysis reveals male karyotype,” the medical report says, according to The Telegraph.
The test was administered by Dr. Lal PathLabs in New Delhi back in 2023, which was the same year the International Boxing Association (IBA) disqualified Khelif for failed gender tests.
The medical report was first published by journalist Alan Abrahamson, the Daily Mail notes.
June 5, 2023, @IBA_Boxing sent letter to IOC @Olympics, attaching test results, saying Algeria boxer’s ‘DNA was that of a male consisting of XY chromosomes.’ Chinese Taipei boxer: also tested, same results. 3 Wire Sports has seen letter and tests https://t.co/VQkjkDo5Yk

Conservatives online were quick to react to the latest report, arguing that it was always obvious Khelif was not female.
“To all the people that insisted Imane Khelif was a woman because his passport said so, You were wrong. We were right,” activist Riley Gaines posted to X on Sunday. “Sincerely, People with functioning eyes and a shred of honesty.”

“Harry Potter” author and outspoken female rights activist J.K. Rowling commented too, writing, “I never said and never believed Khelif was trans. I knew* he was a man.”
“The gender activists who created a political climate in which sex testing was seen as ‘bigoted’ are as culpable as the IOC for the travesty that ensued,” she said, adding, “via a highly credible source who saw his test results.”
