The Left’s Outcry Over South African Refugees Exposes Their Anti-White Bigotry

  • In the Biden era, we saw about infinity pseudo-refugees stream across the southern border from every corner of the third world. “Give us your poor, huddled masses, yearning to be free,” the Democrats chanted, as they called us callous racists for daring to suggest their professed humanitarianism was anything but. Yet in the Trump era, all it took was a handful of Afrikaners to lay the real intent of their immigration program bare.

The lib-left establishment isn’t pro-migrant, and they’re certainly not concerned with taking in genuine refugees fleeing political violence. They’re just anti-white.

The Trump administration brought in 59 Afrikaner refugees on Monday — white, European-descended Africans fleeing violence and political persecution in their native South Africa. The refugees landed in D.C. on a State Department-chartered plane, where, American flags in hand, they were met with an official welcome delegation and a ceremonial news conference. If the video footage is anything to go by, they appear to be mostly nuclear families with young children, a strange contrast from the single, military-aged men usually seen flooding the border and social services facilities.

Corporate media was quick to imply racist hypocrisy. The administration has pushed to freeze most settlement programs for “refugees” — in other words, economic migrants from the Global South that Democrats and their NGO allies resettle with a wink and a nod — so the warmness towards Afrikaners must only be due to the fact that they’re white.

Yet what’s happening in the black supremacist government of South Africa makes Afrikaners exactly the type of refugee the American system seeks to aid. For years, South African political leaders have engaged in genocidal rhetoric against white farmers, the Boers, egging on a frenzy of violent resentment at political rallies. Chants of “Kill the Boer,” mean just that, despite Western media fact-checks. So-called political reforms are ostensibly done under the banner of decolonization, redistributing resources from “colonizers” back to the “natives,” such as the new land expropriation policy the government enacted earlier this year. But the legacy of African decolonization, from Algeria to Rhodesia to Sierra Leone, shows that widespread political violence never lags far behind.

Notably, prominent leaders have gone on record not ruling out a future call “for the slaughtering of whites.” And while official figures are hard to come by, Trump has noted how the white farmers are “being killed” as a result of a political situation that amounts to a “genocide.”

Yet the establishment’s liberal humanitarianism goes right out the window in the face of true racial injustice.

“The decision by this administration to put one group at the front of the line is clearly politically motivated and an effort to rewrite history,” Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., said in a statement on Monday, a nod to the legacy of South African apartheid.

“Trump and Musk are about to give refugee status to 60 white South Africans — who do not need it — while Trump locks up and deports refugees here who face genuine dangers in other countries. This is the sick global apartheid policy being adopted by this lawless administration,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., wrote on X.

In some cases, the media has worked to dig into the refugees’ backgrounds in order to paint them as villains, while others simply said the quiet part out loud: “These [Afrikaners] are the descendants of the people who created the most diabolical system of white supremacy . . . so actually, there’s no injustice here,” said MSNBC’s Rick Stengel.

Even the Episcopal Church, responsible for resettling countless third-world migrants in the US, has refused to work with the administration to resettle the Afrikaners due to its “long commitment to racial justice and reconciliation.”

These are the same people who proudly welcome non-white migrants, refusing to acknowledge the unsustainable strain they cause to social services, the labor and housing impacts on American citizens, and the crime they commit once here. Yet, a handful of white families fleeing genuine threats of political violence is enough to turn the liberal establishment into blood and soil nationalists. “Go back to Africa,” said one deranged lefty, ranting to her followers on TikTok.

South Africa was meant to serve as a post-racial ideal in the age of American hegemony. The apartheid system fell in 1990, “truth and reconciliation” flooded through the country, and a racially unified order was said to have emerged from the ashes. Yet forever committed to this rosy fantasy, the left refuses to acknowledge just how far it’s devolved.

But was this ever an honest ideal? Or was it always just a cover for a politics of disfigured resentment, where the left’s political allies, the “oppressed,” rise to dominate their enemies?

With this week’s mask-off moment, we have even more proof of the latter. All the moral talk of giving justice to the persecuted, helping the helpless, liberating the oppressed — it only ever goes one way: towards the interests of groups imagined to be permanently oppressed, even as they themselves become the oppressor. When these high-minded principles are revealed to be unequally applied, it shows they were never really principles at all.

It’s too simple to say the left is just anti-white; it’s more than that. They are anti-Western, against the very foundation of Western civilization they seek to supplant in the name of a Communist utopia where they hold the power. There’s no lie too big, no atrocity too evil that does not justify this end.

Millions of unassimilated third-worlders are fine because they erode millennia of our culture, customs, and history. Yet people who would honor and further those traditions? Well, that cuts to the core of the leftist political project.

The Great Replacement is real. All it took was a few dozen white refugees to prove it.
