Jon Lovitz, the famed Jewish actor and comedian behind of the greatest family-friendly hits of the 90s, slammed U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) as a “self-loathing Jew” while praising former President Donald Trump.

Lovitz, a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party, criticized the socialist solon over his recent comments about the Israel-Hamas war saying the Jewish nation is “losing the war” against Islamic terrorists and should be denied further funding by the U.S. The actor said it’s no secret that Sanders is in bed with “antisemitic” politicians like the far-left Squad members.

“And [Sanders is] saying, you know, we shouldn’t have money for, you know, to fund Israel, you know, and the Squad, those people… It’s no secret they’re horribly antisemitic,” he told the New York Post, questioning how Sanders can afford three homes while making $174,000. “‘That’s normal.’ No, it isn’t. Not on that salary,” he said in an impression of the Vermont Democrat.

“All my friends that are Jewish, like, they go, Bernie Sanders, self-loathing Jew. You know, what’s wrong with this guy? And that’s what that is. ‘Oh, that’s not true.’ Yeah, it is. Yeah, you are. ‘I don’t like it when people make money. It’s not right. They should only make so much. And then it’s enough.’ Well, you have three homes. You should just have one. ‘That’s none of your business.’”

“And you’ve got Chuck Schumer, who’s Jewish, saying we should have elections in Israel now. And the reason President Trump and other people got mad is you’re not supposed to interfere – ironically, Trump – interfere in another country’s elections and in the middle of a war!” Lovitz exclaimed. “And Bernie Sanders, he’s always been, you know…. I said it before, and I’ll say it again, he’s a self-loathing Jew. And there’s a lot of them. ‘Why do you say that?’ I go, well, it’s clear as a bell, he’s not for Israel. ‘They have to stop this war.’ Why isn’t he condemning Hamas for starting it? What about that?”

A self-described social liberal and fiscal conservative, Lovitz laid into his liberal Hollywood friends for opposing aid to Israel while keeping an open checkbook for Ukraine.

“They go, ‘Let’s give all that money away from Israel, give it to Hamas.’ That’s what they would say. That’s what they want,” Lovitz said. “What’s that, Ilhan Omar? She wants to [not] give money to Israel for military aid. They’re our ally! They’re a democracy! Just go — all right. You’re against giving money to a Democratic ally, correct? You’re against that. But we’re giving money to Ukraine.”

The Democratic Party has swung so far to the left, he added, that a return by Donald Trump to the White House isn’t starting to look so bad.

“And whatever you think of Trump, the fact is that he’s done more for Israel than any president in the history of this country,” Lovitz said. In a recent interview, the “SNL” alum defended Trump when he took heat for publicly questioning why Jewish voters continue to support the Democratic Party.

“I’ve actually met him over the years. And the weird thing about Trump is he’s very different in person than he is on television,” Lovitz told Fox News Digital. “But if you want to say, ‘Well, he’s antisemitic,’ I go, well, I don’t know, his daughter – he’s crazy about Ivanka – converted to Judaism, married a Jewish guy, his grandchildren are Jewish.”

He continued, “There’s a beach club in Palm Beach. And they don’t let Jews in that club. They’re banned. And right next door to that beach club is Mar-a-Lago’s beach club and they let in Jews. So which of those clubs are antisemitic, the one that bans Jews or the ones that lets them in? Well? They love Trump in Israel, I tell you that. Because he defended them… People say Trump’s antisemitic. And then I would say he’s not by his actions and the Democrats, by their actions, are overall. They’re certainly not for Israel.”

Despite being a lifelong Democrat, Lovitz said the events of October 7th have left his confidence shaken in both parties’ leadership.

“Jewish people for years, including myself, have been, you know, mostly liberal and Democrats. And so, what do you do when the party that you’ve been a part of all your life is against you?” Lovitz asked. “So then they go, ‘No, they’re not.’ Really? Well, they just had a vote about it. Not condemning hate towards you. And 70 of them voted against it… The Democratic Party, they’re not what they used to be.”
