Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate by Tuesday, when she will hold her first rally with her pick in Philadelphia, according to a report from Politico.

The two candidates then plan to hold rallies in seven swing states over a span of four days. In addition to Philadelphia, Harris and her running mate will head to western Wisconsin, Detroit, Raleigh, Savannah, Phoenix and Las Vegas.

“The stops will mark the first major campaign swing the presumptive ticket will make since Harris became the all-but-certain Democratic presidential nominee following President Joe Biden’s sudden departure from the race,” Politico reported. “The tour also underscores that the campaign believes the electoral map has expanded since Biden passed the baton to Harris.”

Harris has been contemplating the possibility of adding a number Democratic governors to the ticket. One such candidate is Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who was among the list of candidates on Harris’ shortlist.

Shapiro — who has been campaigning for Harris in recent days — is now viewed as the betting favorite due to the fact that the rally will be occurring in Shapiro’s home state.
