Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) admitted to her role in pressuring President Biden to drop out of the presidential race in a candid interview with The New Yorker.

Sources close to both the Biden family and the upper echelons of the Democratic Party have for weeks reported that a coordinated effort spearheaded by former President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Pelosi was launched with the aim of pressuring Biden to step aside. The effort was launched after the president’s disastrous debate performance this past June.

According to a report from the New York Post, Pelosi, Obama and others signed off on using the 25th Amendment — under which a president would be forced to resign if deemed mentally incapable by cabinet members — if President Biden refused to play ball.

On Thursday, Pelosi became the first person who has been implicated in the plot to speak publicly about it.

“I love him so much. I think he’s been a really a fantastic president of the United States. So I really wanted him to make a decision of a better campaign. Because they were not facing the fact of what was happening,” Pelosi told the New Yorker. “Just a little background. I’ve never been that impressed with his political operation.”

When asked to clarify, she confirmed that she was talking about President Biden’s political operation. “Yeah, I’m not. I mean, I just haven’t. They won the White House, bravo,” Pelosi said.

“But so my concern was this ain’t happening and we have to make a decision for this to happen and the president has to make the decision for that to happen. Let me just say, I won’t say necessarily I knew what I was doing at that time. I knew what I was doing in the whole thing, not just that ship,” the former House speaker went on to say.

“And what was that?” the interviewer followed up, to which Pelosi responded with, “That Donald Trump would never set foot in the White House again.”

The shocking revelation comes as details continue to emerge surrounding the shadowy plot to oust President Biden. Obama, Schumer, Pelosi and others has hoped to hold a “mini primary” at the Democratic National Convention later this month, at which point the party would decide on a new nominee.

Obama was “furious” when Biden opted to endorse Vice President Harris, according to a report from the New York Post citing a high-profile Democratic Party source.

“Obama knows she’s just incompetent — the border czar who never visited the border, saying that all migrants should have health insurance. She cannot navigate the landmines that are ahead of her,” the source said. “When you are running for president there are things you can and can’t say.

A debate between Trump and Harris — which is now scheduled for September — is a point of worry for Obama. “Wait until the debate… She can’t debate. She’s going to put her foot in her mouth about Israel, Palestine, Ukraine. She’s going to say something really stupid,” the source said.

The source further revealed that Obama was keen on Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and had hoped to endorse him ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

According to the source, Obama was caught off guard by Biden’s decision to endorse Harris roughly 15 minutes after announcing he would not be seeking re-election. Biden’s initial statement did not mention Harris, leaving Obama “furious” when he opted to back her candidacy.

“Obama is ‘furious,’ things haven’t gone his way, which is why he is not joining in the Democratic Party’s support of Harris,” the insider added.
