On “The Brian Kilmeade Show,” Julian Epstein, a prominent Democratic lawyer and former chief counsel for the House Judiciary Committee, delivered a scathing critique of Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney involved in the case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia.

On Thursday, Epstein labeled Willis' conduct as an “utter embarrassment,” causing controversy and deep divisions within legal and political circles over the handling of high-profile cases tied to Trump.

Epstein's criticism did not stop at Willis either. He also weighed in heavily on President Joe Biden's immigration policies, painting a dire picture of the situation at the U.S. border. “The system is completely out of control… This is a catastrophe that is completely of the making of the Biden administration,” Epstein said.

“The system doesn't have the capacity to handle it. When you consider just the inability of… being able to integrate into the system in any meaningful way. Look at what's happening in Europe. It's been a disaster in Europe.”

On the economic front, Epstein also touched upon the concept of “Bidenomics,” acknowledging the White House's shift away from the term despite initial optimism surrounding Biden's economic plan. The lawyer's comments reflect the skepticism that many have of the administration's ability to bridge economic gaps and improve the welfare of the middle and lower classes.

Epstein's commentary extended to the legal battles over immigration enforcement, particularly Texas' SB4 law, which has been a point of contention and legal wrangling with the Supreme Court. ” We have beyond chaos, we have a catastrophe here. This is a catastrophe that is completely of the making of the Biden administration,” Epstein remarked.

The conversation eventually circled back to the controversy surrounding Fulton County. “If Fani Willis had any real interest in this case she would resign or accuse herself from it,” Epstein said. “This is an utter embarrassment. I mean this looks to me, in my opinion, this was a kickback scheme where she hired a boyfriend who was then providing her all kinds of benefits. I think the whole claim about the reimbursements is hard to believe.”

“I think the claims about when the relationship began, I think those are very hard to believe. I think the judge was right to allow the Trump team to appeal. And I think there's not just the question about whether she should be kicked off the case.”

Earlier this month a Fulton County judge allowed Willis to continue prosecuting the case but ordered that she dismiss Nathan Wade, a fellow prosecutor who was in the midst of a divorce when the two carried on an affair.

Wade’s former attorney has testified that his relationship with Willis stretched further back than both alleged under oath, potentially perjuring Willis and putting her legal career at risk. She has also drawn a Republican challenger for her reelection as a result of the multiple controversies surrounding her.

Epstein's remarks signal a growing concern among some Democrats over the direction of the party and the impact of its policies on the country's legal, political, and social landscape.

“I don't know how you argue this is not an appearance of a conflict. In any case, this is an utter embarrassment for the, you know, amongst many other embarrassments for the law-fare crowd that is, you know, persecuting Trump in the 11th hour of this campaign.”
