Former President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of criticism aimed at Vice President Kamala Harris in a fiery press conference held at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, questioning the media’s portrayal of her campaign’s popularity. The press event came just days after Harris was declared the Democratic nominee for president.

Trump, who has consistently criticized the media’s coverage of his own events compared to those of his opponents, did not hold back when a reporter asked about the crowd sizes at Harris’s recent rallies.

“Are you worried at all about the size of Harris’s crowd?” one reporter asked. “Oh, give me a break,” Trump responded sharply.

“Listen, I had 107,000 people in New Jersey. You didn’t report it. I’m so glad you asked. What did she have yesterday? 2,000 people? If I ever had 2,000 people, you’d say my campaign is finished. It’s so dishonest, the press. And here’s a great example. I had in Michigan recently 25,000 people and 25,000 people were just we just couldn’t get them in. We had in Harrisburg 20, 25,000 people and 20,000 people couldn’t get in. We had so many, nobody ever mentions that,” Trump elaborated.

“When she gets 1,500 people, and I saw it yesterday on ABC, which they said the crowd was so big. That’s why I’m always saying ‘turn around the cameras.’ I’m so glad you asked that. I think it’s so terrible when you say, ‘well she has 1,500 people, 1,000 people’ and they talk about, ‘oh, the enthusiasm,'” Trump said. “Let me tell you, we have the enthusiasm.”

As the race for the White House heats up, both parties have been stepping up their campaigns in key battleground states. Vice President Harris, alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, has been vigorously slamming former President Trump. The duo has been actively campaigning with recent stops in Michigan and plans to proceed to Arizona.

In a direct challenge to the Democratic campaign, Trump’s vice presidential choice, Ohio Senator JD Vance, held a simultaneous rally in Wisconsin, targeting the same locale where Harris and Walz were drumming up support. At the rally, Vance reignited the fight over Walz’s military service, intensifying a newfound political rivalry.

On Thursday former President Trump also expressed eagerness about facing Vice President Harris in a new and upcoming series of debates. Trump confirmed that he has agreed to three debate dates, saying he is “looking forward” to the opportunity to challenge Harris directly on the debate stage. The anticipation sets the stage for what promises to be a series of highly watched and potentially pivotal encounters between the two political figures.

“I think it’s very important to have debates. And we’ve agreed with Fox on a date of September 4th. We’ve agreed with NBC, fairly full agreement subject to them, on September 10th. And we’ve agreed with ABC on September 25th. So we have those three dates. So we have September 4th, September 10th, and September 25th,” Trump said.

Audience, some location, which city would we put it into, but all things that will be settled very easily, very, I think it will be very easy. The other side has to agree to the terms. They may or may not agree.”
