Kathy Griffin claimed recently that the infamous incident in which she held up a replica severed head of then-President Donald Trump cost her one-third of her fans.

Griffin, who posted the photo in 2017, discussed the incident in an appearance on Dan Le Batard’s podcast “South Beach Sessions.”

“One thing that breaks my heart is why I would say I’ve lost, probably permanently, about a third of my audience because of the Trump thing,” Griffin said.

“I think I’ve gained some audiences that are maybe a little bit more political, maybe a little bit more liberal, but I used to play the South like crazy because they knew me as somebody that would make fun of Hollywood and the Kardashians and celebrities,” she added.

Last year, Griffin revealed that the fallout from the incident took a toll on her mental health. In order to cope with the fallout, the comedian will sometimes “meow like a cat” in order to calm down.

In order to deal with stress and PTSD, Griffin explained that she has been using what she calls “cat-cow,” where she makes animal noises during yoga. “It’s when I get on all fours like a kitty cat and then I arch my back and I am instructed by my teacher to say the word meow. I feel like a fu**ing fool, but I do it,” she said.

“And then I un-arch my back and — wait for it — I ‘moo’ like a cow,” Griffin added. “PTSD is a b**ch, and when I get PTSD attacks, I can’t stop vomiting. So if I have to meow like a kitty cat and moo like a cow, I’m gonna fu**ing do it.”

The comedian also conceded that her rabid Trump hatred landed her in the psych ward after the infamous photoshoot. “Six years I was out of work because of that ****. There I said what it was, all because of a picture!” she shouted, arms waving. “A picture I took making fun of the president!” Griffin said during an appearance on “The View.”

“No fly list. INTERPOL list, stopped at every airport,” she continued. “Pill addiction, suicide attempt, and I was on a psych hold for three days.”
