In the chilling episode that unfolded at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped what could have been a lethal attack. Despite the severity of the incident, where Trump was visibly wounded and hurried offstage by Secret Service agents, the coverage by left-leaning media outlets exposed potential biases.
During the rally, the assailant reportedly opened fire, leading to immediate chaos. Secret Service agents quickly intervened, shielding Trump and escorting him to safety. The former president was later reported to be “fine,” according to a spokesperson, despite visible blood near his right ear. The assailant was neutralized, but tragically, the event also claimed the life of at least one bystander.
In the aftermath, headlines from prominent liberal news organizations like CNN, USA Today, and The New York Times highlighted the event with varying degrees of urgency and detail, or lack thereof.
CNN’s headline read “Trump injured in indecent at rally.”

USA Today opted for a slightly less direct approach with “Trump removed from stage by Secret Service after loud noises startles former president, crowd.”
“Trump whisked off stage in Pennsylvania after loud noises rang through the crowd,” wrote the Los Angeles Times’ headline.
CNN’s initial post claimed that Trump “fell” at the rally.
Just minutes into the former president’s speech, gunfire erupted just after 6 p.m. Eastern Time. Secret Service agents immediately dove on the former president. He was then helped to his feet by Secret Service agents before giving a thumbs up to the crowd. Joe Biden delivered remarks to the nation a little over two hours after Trump was shot.
“I’ve been thoroughly briefed by all the agencies in the federal government as to the situation based on what we know now. I have tried to get a hold of Donald, he’s with his doctors. Apparently he’s doing well. I plan on talking to them shortly, I hope, when I get back to the telephone,” the president began.
“Look, there’s no place in America for this kind of violence. It’s sick. It’s sick. It’s one of the reasons why we have to unite this country. We cannot allow for this to be happening. We cannot be like this. We cannot condone this,” he continued.

As Biden walked away from the podium, a reporter asked whether he would characterize the incident as an assassination attempt. “I don’t know enough to I have an opinion but I don’t have any facts, so I want to make sure we have all the facts before I make some comment, any more comments. Thank you,” the president answered before exiting the room.
