Chance Perdomo, the British-American actor who played a recurring role on the Amazon Prime superhero series “Gen V,” has died after a tragic motorcycle accident on Friday, according to the Daily Caller.
The 27-year-old succumbed to injuries sustained during a solo accident somewhere in the Southern California area, according to a statement from his publicist. Variety was unable to learn from the Los Angeles Police Department if the accident occurred within city limits.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident. Authorities have advised that no other individuals were involved,” the publicist told Variety. “His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Perdomo's fellow “Gen V” cast members and producers issued their own statement expressing shock at his untimely passing.
“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person,” the “Gen V” producers said in a joint statement. “Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”
Born in 1996 in L.A., Perdomo later moved with his mother to England, growing up in Hampshire and later attending Peter Symonds College in Winchester. He abandoned a post-college interest in law, instead moving back to L.A. where he studied at the National Youth Theatre and trained at the Identity School of Acting.
After several side roles in television and short films, Perdomo got his big break with a recurring role on the Netflix horror series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” where he played the lead character's warlock cousin Ambrose Spellman. His role in the 2018 TV movie “Killed by My Debt” earned him a BAFTA nomination for best male character in a leading role. Perdomo joined “Gen V” in September 2023 upon its debut as a spinoff to the satirical hit superhero series “The Boys.” Production has been delayed indefinitely following Perdomo's death.
